Addicted to CAS Code Word Heart

What a fabulous response we had to our last challenge at Addicted to CAS, you lovely ladies sure do love your embossing and I know that Karen has had a really tough time picking her winners so tune in Monday to see who will the lucky winners are.

Its time though for a new code word and for the next fortnight our host will be the super talented Loll who has chosen :-

ATCAS - code word heart

Now normally I would be doing cartwheels and woo-hoo-ing all over the place ( not a pretty sight at my age as my children can testify )  at the thought of a heart related card as I adore them but I was a little flummoxed to say the least. I’ve made so many of them lately so I really had to get the old thinking bonnet on to come up with something new.

IMG_2834

I’ve wanted to use this little stamp for ages it a tiny weeny inchie stamp by Inkadinkado stamped with red Archival ink and then layered with a variety of Spellbinders frames. The sentiment is computer generated, super simple , so simple it took ten days to come up with it ! That blasted mojo !

Not satisfied with such a simple card I decided to challenge myself and try to make an even simpler one ( yes simpler than this ) and I did !!

IMG_2819

See told ya it was simple ! My lovely Cameo did all the hard work except add the little heart stick pin,  I take full credit for that and I think it makes all the difference !!

$10 GIFT VOUCHER
will be awarded to the CAS PERFECTIONIST
To be eligible to win the prize above, please follow the rules here.  Remember to use the code word for your inspiration and keep your creations CAS (Clean and Simple).

Its been absolutely ages since I entered a challenge and thought it was about time I dipped my tootsies back in the water so I would like to play along with Addicted to Stamps and More who are having a CAS challenge with any theme you like ! Its my first time taking part in one of their challenges and I hear on the blogvine that they have a wonderful inspirational design team !

Now while you have a spare five minutes why not pop over to Addicted to CAS to see what the gorgeous girls have come up with, I can assure you there is plenty of inspiration, why not join in the fun, go on you know you want to !

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend

Take care

ATCAS – Challenge #4 Embossing

Its time for our first challenge of 2013 at Addicted to CAS and our code word for the next fortnight has been chosen by the very lovely and talented Karen

ATCAS+-+code+word+embossing

Here is my little number

IMG_2738

I used this lovely Delicate Doilies stamp from Inspired by Stamping which I embossed using white SU embossing powder. Joanna from Inspired by Stamping also offers the digital die cut for this set of stamps so I was able to cut the doilie shape with my Cameo and pop up the base with some foam which was then placed inside the doilie cut out.
The bottom of the card was dry embossed with this lovely little Sizzix embossing folder, a couple of red pearls, actually they started off as white but I coloured them with a red Copics marker, and there you have it !
We have an awesome sponsor again for this challenge. Please let me introduce you to

Addicted to Stamps and More ” Halloween “

Hic !!!!!!! What can I say !!!!! Thanks to all of the smarty pants that pointed out my HUGE spelling mistake on my wedding card on the previous post !!!! OMG how embarrassing,  out there for all of the world to see,  and not only that but I sold the damn thing within an hour of making it and the person who bought it didn’t notice it either !!!! Thank goodness I live in Greece I just hope the person who receives it can’t speak English. Moving swiftly on……time for another challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More and our theme this week is ” Halloween ”  I loved Halloween when I lived in London that and bonfire night but unfortunately neither of these are celebrated here in Greece .

Please excuse the rubbish photo but due to the 3D style of this card I just couldn’t get a decent shot. I used my mate Cameo to cut the card and welded the bat into the top corner. Added a couple of white mice and the spider on the inside of the card, Miss Muffets mate is covered in stickles , not that you can tell and to be honest I don’t know why I bothered cos you can’t see a trace of the glittery stuff !

Seeing as how my lovely cameo was all warmed up I decided to make another , I used the tree stamp from SU  for the background and coloured it with Pan Pastels , added the bats and cut the frame with my Cameo.

Wait there’s more ……..

This little spider card was embossed with a Mr Holtz texture impressions folder and a couple of googly eyes added this was just a silly whim of the moment card so please don’t be harsh with me

Right one more and then you can go…….

Again my cameo came to the rescue ( think I’m addicted ) cut the shape and the image and coloured with SU inks,  inserted the cut out into the negative space which had been run through the Big Shot with this fun Tim Holtz embossing folder. Did you notice the little border of bats at the bottom ? I don’t know about you but they look more like space invaders ( for the older amongst you ) than bats don’t you think !. A few pearls and a bit of foam and there it is !

I do hope you will pop over to Addicted to Stamps and More the DT has some fabulously spooky cards for your viewing pleasure and also our newest members are debuting today so do hope you can visit and give them a big warm welcome.

While I was trawling blog land I came across a fabulous challenge site called Art With No Boundaries who’s theme is Halloween and October. I was totally blown away by the amazing DT here and their fabulous creations something totally different , I was well impressed I can tell you so I thought I would link up there too. Hope I am worthy .

Before I go thank you so much for your well wishes regarding my foot,  am still suffering and am having to increase my pain medication somewhat, by the time my foot has healed my liver will be shot to pieces !!!

Take care my lovelies

Marie

Addicted to Stamps CAS Card Challenge

Thank you lovely ladies for you get well wishes after my accident with the Sushi knife ,the finger looks rather unattractive and before Suze Bain makes some disparaging remark I will say that it matches the rest of me !

Its time once again for another challenge over atAddicted to Stampswere our  theme for this week is to make a card  any subject as long as its clean and simple ,well tons of scope there so no excuses for not joining in ! so come and have a peep at what I made

I have a beautiful book with Japanese prints that I have been dying to use for some time but didn’t want to destroy the book so I photocopied the image onto acetate, I just love how bright the colours are when you use acetate. I placed a piece of bevelled glass over the image and glued it with Glossy Accents and added a few red pearls. I used Spellbinders circles to cut the aperture and popped up the frame with some foam, a lovely resin flower in the corner and all done.

I’d like to enter this card into a couple of challenges ( havent done that for ages ) the first is Annabelle Stamps blog who are asking us to use spots and dots and anything round ,  am in just under the wire on this one !

Moxie Fab World Focal Point Challenge

I’ve been dying to take part in one of their challenges for ages now but was always overwhelmed by the quality of the beautiful creations by DT and entrants, nothing ventured nothing gained so here goes

For all of the deets do pop over to Annabelle Stamps and Moxi Fab World there are some amazing entries and fabulous inspirational pieces by both DT’s

Variations on a theme wont bore you with the details

Last but not least !

Please pop over to Addicted to Stamps to see what the rest of the gorgeous girls on the DT have made for your delectation and why not have a go…come on you know you want to !

Well will have to love you and leave you as its Mr P’s birthday today and I’m still struggling to make him a card, last year the poor man didn’t get one ! Actually this time I have three on the go but can’t make my mind up so he just might end up getting all of them ! I’m taking him out for a romantic dinner this evening so I need a good five hours to get ready  ! I might be a bit late getting round to you all tomorrow due hopefully to partaking of  copious amounts of wines and spirits and of course am still on medication ( gin ) for the sore finger !

Toodle pip and ta ra to you all

Addicted to Stamps ” Clean and Simple “

Not only is our theme this week over at Addicted to Stamps entitled ” Clean and Simple ” but this post is going to be the same ! Due to my lack of internet over the last 24 hours and it taking me just as long to post this  I am keeping this super quick.  My nerves are frayed and jangled , not a pretty combination in anyones book ! ( I do love a bit of drama now don’t I ) so without further ado let me show you the CAS card I made .

I coloured my cardstock with Pan Pastels to give this lovely pale pink and blue effect. Cut the hearts with my Cameo and taking a lovely crackle stamp from IndigBlu and without using an acrylic block inked up the stamp and pressed it randomly on top as I didn’t want full coverage. The sentiment is from Stampin Up’s  Vintage Love set. Popped the hearts up with a little foam and there you have it CAS… I decided it looked a little too simple so  made a fancy heart envelope to go with it and coloured the lacy part with pink Pan Pastels .

Still not satisfied I made a tiny envelope again with my Cameo and embossed it and filled it with lots of tiny pink and blue hearts once again coloured with Pan Pastels , these little buggers took longer to make than the card as I had to colour both sides and they kept floating all around my craft room and disappearing when I sprayed them with my fictive spray. Needless to say the mutts were locked out during this process as they have been known to eat many a crafty creation which finds its way onto the floor !

There are tons of hearts still in the envelope but I couldn’t be bothered to get all of the little suckers out  !

Please pop over to Addicted to Stamps to see what the rest of the talented Design team have made for your viewing pleasure and thank you once again to all of those who played along last week, once again some fabulous entries.

Before I go just wanted to say that I will be missing for the next week as I celebrate my birthday on saturday 52 !!!!!! yes I know I don’t look it lol ! Hubby has arranged a holiday to the beautiful Greek island of Lesvos    for us , its been quite a while since we managed to have a holiday together so barring any health issues I will be leaving friday morning. Please excuse me in advance if my visits are a little erratic, this Island is quite mountainous and although I will have my I pad with me am not sure about the internet connection, I mean I can’t even get a good one slap bang in the city !

Wishing you all a wonderful week and especially to all of my lovely but very soggy UK blogging friends am off to the post office to mail you all a little sun !!

Ta ra

Addicted to Stamps Challenge No 3 Christmas in July

Hopefully while you are reading this I shall be sunning myself at my summer-house in Halkidiki that’s if WordPress does its magic. There was a huge kerfuffle  ( no idea how to spell that neither does spell check…...Vicky ) in the crafting cave last week as the dogs got wind of my plans to replace them with felines. Not  wanting to point any fingers but I will anyway, I  think that Valerie of Bastlemania is the guilty party as she said she was going to send them an email  and spill the beans,  don’t  know how she got it as even I don’t even have it ! The beans have been spilled and now I’m left cleaning up the mess ! After much whining and growling and that was just me ,we have decided that if there is to be any future in our relationship then we need to get away from it all ( crafting ) and try to work through our feelings and see where our priorities lie. So I am packing up the doglets their toys and such like and leaving my crafty supplies behind for a few days. I have managed to smuggle the I Pad into one of my bags while they were getting their swim suits ready and hopefully will be able to do some sneaky commenting when they go to bed. Valerie if you tell on me I will be very annoyed !!!!l

I do hope we can work things out as I do love them dearly and this little break will give us the opportunity to explore our inner most feelings. Another thing is that many of you shared you feline experiences with me and its rather put me off……better the devils you know !

Goodness got all carried away with the R & B saga and nearly forgot to post my card !!!! Over at  Addicted to Stamps its time once again for our new challenge and our illustrious leader  Kylie has chosen a corker !! Christmas in July. My heart sank when I saw it I mean it’s about 38 here today and I had packed up all of my Christmas stash and of course I can’t find it ! Its most probably went the way of lots of other valuable crafting items in other words,  the bin,  so I am making do with what I could find .

I created the yellow ( well it is Christmas in July ) frame with my Cameo and  cut out the central circle with a spellbinders nesting die. Stamped old Santy Clause there with one of my lovely Waltzingmouse stamps and embossed with SU grey embossing powder. Framed the image again using red card cut with Spellbinders. Used one of my TH on the edge dies to cut the top piece of red felt and attached to the card, added some red pearls and a lovely yellow resin flower and that’s me all done !

This is especially for the visually challenged among us so you can see how naff my embossing is.

Do please pop over to Addicted to Stamps to see what the other talented and lovely ladies have created to inspire us all and thank you all so much for taking the time to pop by  it really is appreciated. Must dash as I have to finish packing and  find Rosy’s water wings otherwise all hell will be let loose. Did you know that French Bulldogs can’t swim ? If you are really well-behaved while I’m away I might just share some holiday snap of the mutts frolicking in the waves .

Addicted to Stamps Eyes Down For A Full House ” Bingo “

I want cats !!! yes you heard me I want cats !!! if there is anyone out there who is willing to trade then please send an email to buns@otenet.gr In exchange one porky French bulldog that goes by the name of girly girl and a small but feisty mini pincher Bailey bail . We  are at an impasse ,  as much as I love the dastardly duo it seems that they have had enough of me and have asked ( in their own special way ) to be transferred to a non crafting environment and who could blame them. Now I love my pets and I thought that they loved me but a complaint has been lodged and they are demanding certain rights .I did hear mention of the RSPCA being discussed between them which of course we dont have  here in Greece,  me thinks leaving the Mac un- attended and open while I am at work is not such a good thing after all ! so my dogs want out and I need something to cuddle during the times when the internet is down or blogger is mis- behaving,  so this time I would prefer a feline friend who is independent and can amuse itself, . I look forward to hearing from the interested parties and for those of you who have not seen R & B here is a photo of the little ” darlings ” oh and by the way refunds and returns are not accepted !

Right on to more important matters , its time for our second challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and I would like to thank everyone both old and new blogging friends who supported us in our first ever challenge , it was so lovely to see so may new and wonderful entires and I thank you all. Our new challenge for this week is  “Bingo ” and here is our little bingo chart for you to look at

We would like you to  choose a line either diagonal or horizontal, here is my take on the theme.

I chose, buttons, free and red for my line. The flowers have been cut with Paper Arsty dies the patterned paper I have no idea as to whom it belongs as the cover has long come off ( whats new ) the sentiment is SU and the HUGE button I bought at a crafting exhibition I attended recently in the UK. Looks like a simple card and it is but it took me about ten goes to get the cut outs exactly where I wanted them ! If you want to see some real talent and some beautiful inspirational cards then please head on over to Addicted to Stamps where you will see some fabulous creations by my fellow DT members who are obviously avid bingo fans !

Right am off to bed all of this dog trading business has worn me out plus the fact that the two terrors are yapping at my heels !

Take care and don’t forget my doglets

Marie

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 69 Distress It

Time once again for our new challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers and our theme for the next two weeks has been chosen by the lovely and talented Feebsy  who is asking us to Distress It ! She would love to see some form of distressing on your project, pop over to Crafty Cardmakers for more details.

I really enjoyed this one immensely and had lots of fun getting inky and messy , something I havent done for a long long time .

To make the base I cut out three pieces of card with my Cameo and layered them, embossed them with the Harlequin embossing folder by Sizzix , lightly rubbed them over with Pan Pastels in varying colours and set them with hair spray,  a double dose of UTEE to give a little shine and the base was done. For the next layer I used an IndigoBlu crackle stamp with clear embossing ink and the used the emboss resist technique with DI inks in varying shades until I got the look I wanted. The edges were distressed with my fab but very noisy Zutter machine and then more DI’s around the edges.

For the main image I coloured a piece of card with Pan Pastels,  over the top I stenciled in red Pan pastels a number mask that I had made with the aid of my Cameo. I used this great face stamp by Inkylicious which I embossed with black SU embossing powder. This little metal frame from Tim Holtz has been sitting waiting its turn patiently and seemed eyedeal ( pun intended ) to place over the eye. This was such great fun and I really enjoyed mixing it up a little.

I do hope you can join us over at Crafty Cardmakers there are two great prizes to be won by our very generous sponsors

Digi Doodle Shop

We are also sponsored by Hobby Art who are giving away two fabulous stamps sets and this is what they have to say.

As a family business we’re a friendly, helpful, bunch at Hobby Art. All our stamps are designed by us and manufactured in Britain.

Look at the gallery on my blog – jennymayes.com – for lots of card ideas using the Hobby Art range.
We’re pleased to sponsor the Crafty Cardmakers Challenge and look forward to seeing the entries. Good luck everyone. Jenny and all. X

why not pop over to Crafty Cardmakers to see the fantastic inspirational pieces by my fellow DT members and why not take part who knows you could be one of our lucky winners !

Before I go would just like to leave you with a photo of Bailey and Rosy  my doglets who have been complaining that I have not mentioned them recently in any of my blog posts ! Well the fact is that they have been behaving themselves lately and havent eaten or destroyed any of my stamps/supplies and creations.

Right am off to cook lunch and will pop by you all later to see what you have been up to.

Take care
