ATCAS – Challenge #4 Embossing

Its time for our first challenge of 2013 at Addicted to CAS and our code word for the next fortnight has been chosen by the very lovely and talented Karen

ATCAS+-+code+word+embossing

Here is my little number

I used this lovely Delicate Doilies stamp from Inspired by Stamping which I embossed using white SU embossing powder. Joanna from Inspired by Stamping also offers the digital die cut for this set of stamps so I was able to cut the doilie shape with my Cameo and pop up the base with some foam which was then placed inside the doilie cut out.
The bottom of the card was dry embossed with this lovely little Sizzix embossing folder, a couple of red pearls, actually they started off as white but I coloured them with a red Copics marker, and there you have it !
We have an awesome sponsor again for this challenge. Please let me introduce you to

  1. Gorgeous card Marie – love that you’ve used both dry and heat embossing, and those red pearls really pop.

    Hugs.

  2. This is such an elegant card – I love both the dry and heat embossing! I just got a Cameo and am learning how to use it so I will be coming here for inspiration and see what you do with yours!! Hugs, Harriet

  3. WOW – that red pearl embellishment is the most perfect of additions and that white embossed stamp (am I so impressed with your use of white embossing powder which can be tricky to handle) against the black is sensationally elegant.

  4. Such a fantastic design, it’s so very elegant Marie! I really struggle to photograph a black card, yours is perfect, I think I really need some photographing tips… or a new camera lol!

  5. Hi Marie. Fabulous card! Love the way you’ve used the negative die to frame you gorgeous doily stamp … and that it actually goes outside the frame on one side —so clever and unique!! The touch of red adds lots of punch. Loll xx

  6. Stunning card, Marie! The white image looks so dramatic on the black background, I like how you’ve put it slightly off the edge and the embossed sentiment. Sue x

  7. Happy New Year! to you and your family, Marie. I know…..I haven’t stopped by for a while…..sorry my friend!

Your card is gorgeous! I love the pop of white against your black card. Beautifully stamped and embossed doily, and I love your dry embossing, too. Such a unique layout.

  8. Hello again Marie :-), hope you are feeling back to normal now, especially as a little birdie told me you are working very, very hard at the moment. I think you need a spot of crafty retail therapy ;-). Your card is gorgeous as always, and I love the little touch of red with the black & white. I really wanted to join in with this challenge when it started but was way behind over Christmas with one thing and another, but I think this theme is a perfect opportunity, as I have a plan…..

    Take care Marie

  9. Hey you! I knew this was your card before I saw the name above it. Stunning!!!!!!!!!! Now then I have just seen another card which for some reason showed up with this post which is amazing so I am off to track it down. What you done with it.
    Crafty Hugs, Florence xx

  10. It’s always a pleasure to come and see your cards Marie! This one is a beauty with that beautiful white, embossing in the aperture showing up against the dark, textured card stock. I do hope you and your husband are feeling better now. Vicky x

  11. Marie, you were soooo missed last Saturday, wish you were there! Next time you won’t miss the crop, right?

Your cards are always so elegant and this is no exception! I love how you have used the black cardstock and the red pearls are an amazing touch!
