Get Creative May 5th Card Challenge Flowers

Hello lovely ladies and happy Easter to all of my Greek friends and family !

For those of you that read my post yesterday I wont bore you with the details of the mayhem and madness that is prevailing in my life at the moment but get right down to matters at hand which is our new challenge at Get Creative . April showers bring May flowers is the theme for the whole of May always a popular theme…….except if you are me of course !!!! Cant seem to get the hang of the thingies !!! My team mates over at Get Creative have done a magnificent job so why not pop over and see their wonderful blooms. Don’t expect to find anyone at home though as its Easter ~Sunday here, the weather is glorious and everyone has left for their villages !

As I’m in the process of moving my studio most of my things are boxed up so I didn’t have too much to work with, to be honest even if they weren’t boxed up I would still have a problem !!!!!

A quick and easy card and I love the fabulous colours, I used a favourite Japanese print and copied it onto acetate, cut the frame with my Cameo and added a little flower

Another simple one, this beautiful hand stitched silk fabric was given to me by a lovely friend who has my good luck would have it has a fabric shop here in Thessaloniki and has given me tons of samples the only problem is they are just too beautiful to cut up but being desperate and short of time I got my scissors out !. I did make the paper flower flowers underneath I’m embarrassed to say ! The frame once again cut by my Cameo.

We are sponsored once again by Get Creative Embellishments who have this lovely gift for the winner

ATCAS – Challenge #12 – Hosted by Christine

Hello lovely ladies !!

First of all let me start by apologising to you all for not visiting your blogs lately but there are many good reasons. `It seems the time has come for both of our boys to leave home they are moving in together which is fantastic news for them but bitter-sweet for myself and Mr P. It also coincides with our youngest sons leaving exams for high school and the Greek orthodox Easter which means we are working full-time around the clock every day, because this is their first home together we have had to start from scratch and buy everything, I had forgotten how tiresome this could be. Our day is a constant round of plumbers painters and delivery men, dismantled furniture in our living room and the pressure of exams ! It also means I will be leaving my lovely studio as now I have plenty of room at home so although I am happy to return  I feel a little sad at giving up this wonderful space. My emotions are all over the place….lots of new beginnings for all of us. Enough of my sad story and on to the matter at hand…..

ATCAS – Challenge #12 – Hosted by Christine

Time for a new challenge at ATCAS and this time our host is the wonderfully talented Christine and this is what she has chosen for her code word for the next fortnight

ATCAS+-+code+word+rainbow-1

Lots of scope for this one don’t you think !

Although the design team always know well in advance what the forthcoming themes will be I tend to leave everything until the last moment I just lovvvvvvveeeeee the pressure,  but this time due to all of the “goings on ” in my home life this was a BIG MISTAKE as most of my crafty stuff is in boxes and the boys have buggered off with both PC’s from home ! Luckily enough my card came together quite quickly and although not one of my best I do hope that Christine will forgive me as it is the best I could do with limited supplies.

This is when the Cameo really comes into its own, I printed the lovely ladies and the sentiment from my Cameo library onto acetate and then cut a frame to fit around and hide the glue, that’s it !!!!

We have a wonderful sponsor again this time Clear Dollar Stamps who are offering  $15.00 voucher to be used at their store.

We would love to see you again at ATCAS and thank you all so much for your continued support we also have a DT call on at the moment  why not pop over to see the fabulous inspirational pieces by my fellow DT members and find out all of the details.

I would just like to wish all of my Greek  friends and family a happy Easter and hopefully if all goes well I might just get a quick dip in the sea as the temperature is around the 30 mark !!

Will be back tomorrow with another post for Get Creative

Take care

Marie

Addicted to Stamps CAS Card Challenge

Thank you lovely ladies for you get well wishes after my accident with the Sushi knife ,the finger looks rather unattractive and before Suze Bain makes some disparaging remark I will say that it matches the rest of me !

Its time once again for another challenge over atAddicted to Stampswere our  theme for this week is to make a card  any subject as long as its clean and simple ,well tons of scope there so no excuses for not joining in ! so come and have a peep at what I made

I have a beautiful book with Japanese prints that I have been dying to use for some time but didn’t want to destroy the book so I photocopied the image onto acetate, I just love how bright the colours are when you use acetate. I placed a piece of bevelled glass over the image and glued it with Glossy Accents and added a few red pearls. I used Spellbinders circles to cut the aperture and popped up the frame with some foam, a lovely resin flower in the corner and all done.

I’d like to enter this card into a couple of challenges ( havent done that for ages ) the first is Annabelle Stamps blog who are asking us to use spots and dots and anything round ,  am in just under the wire on this one !

Moxie Fab World Focal Point Challenge

I’ve been dying to take part in one of their challenges for ages now but was always overwhelmed by the quality of the beautiful creations by DT and entrants, nothing ventured nothing gained so here goes

For all of the deets do pop over to Annabelle Stamps and Moxi Fab World there are some amazing entries and fabulous inspirational pieces by both DT’s

Variations on a theme wont bore you with the details

Last but not least !

Please pop over to Addicted to Stamps to see what the rest of the gorgeous girls on the DT have made for your delectation and why not have a go…come on you know you want to !

Well will have to love you and leave you as its Mr P’s birthday today and I’m still struggling to make him a card, last year the poor man didn’t get one ! Actually this time I have three on the go but can’t make my mind up so he just might end up getting all of them ! I’m taking him out for a romantic dinner this evening so I need a good five hours to get ready  ! I might be a bit late getting round to you all tomorrow due hopefully to partaking of  copious amounts of wines and spirits and of course am still on medication ( gin ) for the sore finger !

Toodle pip and ta ra to you all

Get Creative 20th April Card Sketch Challenge

Its time for our last challenge of the month over at Get Creative and our lovely and talented  leader Irini has given us the following sketch to work with.

Image

The design team have been very generously given a gorgeous goody bag of chipboard elements to play with and use in our creations by the fantastic sfragidomania.

Image

Here is my take on the Sketch

Image

I cut several square frames with my Cameo and stamped with a baroque stamp and inked the edges. Layered them one on top of the other to give dimension. I used a Sizzix embossing folder with shattered glass effect and ran a piece of acetate through it in the Big Shot. The chipboard chandelier was inked with Stazon in black and then three layers of clear UTEE were added. Some pearls from my stash. I also added UTEE to the sentiment wich was also generated by my Cameo. I was trying to give the impression of a fallen chandelier , it’s a bit of a standing joke in our house when something goes wrong then someone usually trots out the phrase ” it was like that when I got here ” on showing this to my husband though he didn’t get the joke so I hope some of you do ! Sorry about the rubbish photo but as most of you know acetate is a bit on the tricky side to photograph.

Do pop over to Get Creative to see what my fabulous team mates have come up with to inspire you and the see the fabulous prize that is on offer. We have once again been sponsored by the very generous Tina Suitella .

I am a little behind in commenting this week as my New I Pad fell into a bucket of water ( don’t ask !!! ) and am in mourning for its loss. I usually take it to work with me to help with my commenting , lucky i am the boss ! Due to its sudden demise and until I get a replacement I hope you can all bear with me.

Right that’s me folks off to earn a penny or too

Take care

Marie
