My darling cameo was used to cut the tag.  The smile sentiment was stamped with Archival brilliance rocket red ink and popped up with foam and a couple of stick pins added. For the heart I used my melt pot to melt some UTEE and added a few drops of  To Die For Additive in red . I then poured it into a metal heart mould and while still warm I carefully stamped it with a little Hero Arts wooden flower stamp.

I do hope you will join us at Get Creative and why not pop over to see the fabulous Design Teams amazing tags.  The winner will come back as our guest designer for August.

Oh and I should warn you that your in- boxes will be dinging in about an hour ( if WP does its job) with another scheduled post from me SORRY !!!

Right must dash as I’m off to catch my plane

Take care

Less is More ” Glamour and Glitz “

Hello lovely ladies, super quick post from me as I have the  “mange ” (well flu to be precise ) Last week upon my return from London I found both hubby and number 2 son a coughing and a sneezing. I of course being the compassionate person that I am called them wimps and told them to stop feeling sorry for themselves , only to catch the dreaded lurgy a few days later !!!! that will teach me !

I just wanted to share this little card with you before I crawl back into bed that I made for

the current Less is More challenge whose theme this week is Glamour and Glitz ! A bit tricky trying to combine CAS with glitz and glamour but here goes nothing !

I used Tim Holtz large and small rosette dies using various papers from my stash and my new ebosser to cut them. The larger one was dipped in Glossy Accents and then tons of glitter added. For the central embellishment I made a mold with some of that fun putty stuff and an old button ( can’t remember the name of it ! ) it sets in about five minutes then added UTEE that I had melted in my Ranger melt pot ( clear, white and blue ) filled the mold and five minutes later ta da ! The embossing and scalloping are all done with a fab new set by SU that I purchased by way of the lovely Vicky from Crafting Clares Paper Moments, I just adore it and am sure it will feature on many more projects to come.

Do pop over to Less is More so much to see and admire as always.

Right am back off to bed with a nice mug of hot cocoa 1

Take care

Addicted to Stamps and More Sketch Challenge

Hello lovely ladies hope you are all well and feeling crafty . Today your in boxes will be dinging twice with scheduled posts from me so no it’s not a mistake, sometimes the  various DT challenges collide and today is one of those days.

First up is our challenge at  Addicted to Stamps and More and we have a lovely sketch for you to follow this week,  come and have a peep

My lovely Cameo once again came to the rescue die cutting this beautiful black card, in fact this is an envelope,  instead of sealing it I opened it out and placed some yellow card stock in the centre. I made the coordinating flower once again with my Cameo and added this little heart that I made using my melt art pan and UTEE with a sprinkling of gold SU  embossing powder.

Another little Cameo creation with a little embossing and a birdie brad, not very sure about this one but I made it so I’m sharing it anyway !

Once again thank you all for your wonderful support at Addicted to Stamps and More,  it’s so lovely to see your creations each week. Why not nip over and see what my wonderful team mates have created this week to inspire you.

Look out for my second post later today

Take care

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 75 Stitching and Lace

It seems like someone has put a curse on me lately, you may remember a few weeks ago I sliced the top of my finger off with a sushi knife and although it is healing nicely its still very painful and quite sensitive. Well Friday night I had a little altercation with the corner of my bed which just happens to have a metal frame. I whacked my foot rather hard on the corner and have broken my little toe !!! this is the third time I’ve broken the damn thing ( and no Florence gin was not involved ) although I have to say am having a few scoops for purely medicinal purposes you understand ! I ‘m now hobbling ungraciously around in my flip-flops and of course the weather has turned rotten and as my craft room is no longer at home  I had to brave the elements dressed like a bag lady in the teeming rain in order to get this post done !! Now theres dedication for you !!!!!!

Its time for a new challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers but before I go any further I would like to thank everyone who joined in my ”  Winged Things ” challenge so many fabulous entries and you really made it difficult for me to choose a winner. Our hostess for the next fortnight is our lovely boss Lin who is asking us to use lace and stitching on our creations and here is what she has to say :-

I would like to see some stitching, either hand, machine or faux on your project as WELL as some lace, real not faux.
I really wanted to create something simple for this challenge ( again ) ! lately I’m in a very CAS frame of mind and I knew my teamies would all come up with lots of  fabulous lacy gorgeousness and I was right, so  I thought I would leave it up to the experts.
I wanted to give the impression of a pattern and so stamped
my image onto velum and then again onto some lovely DP and paper pieced the image. Added a little pocket and some lace and a button. I used my Cameo to cut the scissors and then triple coated them with UTEE  which I inked up first with SU Melon Mambo ink and added a little leather to the handles.
I would also like to enter this card into Pile it On Challenge no 38 ” Its a Stitch Up ” who are asking us to use some real or faux stiching on our project
We have a wonderful sponsor once again Hobby ArtStamps
This is the Fab prize on offer
I’m sure you will agree definitely worth entering for.
Please pop over to Crafty Cardmakers to see the wonderful creations by my team mates and do hope you will find the time to join us.
I would also like to enter this card into Pile it On Challenge no 38 ” Its a Stitch Up ” who are asking us to use some real or faux stitching on our project.
Right time for me to hobble off home now sniff, sniff.

Get Creative Sketch Challenge 20th June

Two posts in one day well that’s a first for me !!! two posts in one week is rare enough ! Anyone visiting for the Addicted to Stamps blog launch please see my previous post. Due to circumstances beyond my control this couldn’t be avoided so if your email dinged a second time and you saw my name well not it’s not a mistake.

As it’s the 20th of the month its time for our card sketch challenge over at Get Creative and we were given this fun one to work with come and see

It’s to be used purely as inspiration, flip it rotate it, use it as you will as long as we can recognise the sketch bearing that in mind come and see me interpretation !

Lately I’ve been trying my hand at art journalling and having loads of fun getting inky and messy , although the feedback I got from hubby was just a raised eyebrow and no comment whatsoever , I think I heard something along the line of dogs dinner being muttered under his breath but I can’t be too sure. Having said that my two mutts are very well fed so I’m taking it as a compliment !! Anyway back to the art journalling as I said I have been having great fun with Dylusions inks masks and what not ,so I got  the idea to cut up a piece of  one of my masks and use it as the central piece of my card. The poor thing has been sprayed, gessoed, Pan Pasteled all over and with in an inch of its life ! I used my Cameo to make the mask and the scissors I used Pan Pastels to colour them and then added a couple of layers of Utee, what you’ve never seen pink scissors before …… I also covered my white card stock in pink Pan Pastels as it gives such a pretty tint to the paper. It seems that these pastels are all the rage or all the go if you come from Liverpool  ! I’m really loving using them and finding them better than ink and a little goes a long way which can’t be bad . The gorgeous crocheted flower I bought from Get Creative Embellishments who are also by chance our sponsor for the month. They are so pretty and beautifully made each one so different as you will see on my second card

Similar to the first card but here I stenciled directly onto the card and then placed the stencil on top but offset it a little . I only glued it in a few places as I wanted to give the impression that it was falling off, well that’s my excuse anyway. Another beautiful flower from Get Creative embellishments and for those of you like me who suffer from bloggers blindness here’s a little close up

As I said before Get Creative embellishments are our sponsor for this month and this is a little taster of what you could win aren’t they gorgeous

Why not pop over to Get Creative to see the beautiful inspirational pieces by the other members of the DT and why not have a peep at some of our other challenges that are currently running, you have until the 29th of the month to upload your entries.

Right think I need a lie down, two posts in one day has worn me out hope I didn’t tire you all and if your emails start dinging again it’s not me I promise !!!

Take care

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 69 Distress It

Time once again for our new challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers and our theme for the next two weeks has been chosen by the lovely and talented Feebsy  who is asking us to Distress It ! She would love to see some form of distressing on your project, pop over to Crafty Cardmakers for more details.

I really enjoyed this one immensely and had lots of fun getting inky and messy , something I havent done for a long long time .

To make the base I cut out three pieces of card with my Cameo and layered them, embossed them with the Harlequin embossing folder by Sizzix , lightly rubbed them over with Pan Pastels in varying colours and set them with hair spray,  a double dose of UTEE to give a little shine and the base was done. For the next layer I used an IndigoBlu crackle stamp with clear embossing ink and the used the emboss resist technique with DI inks in varying shades until I got the look I wanted. The edges were distressed with my fab but very noisy Zutter machine and then more DI’s around the edges.

For the main image I coloured a piece of card with Pan Pastels,  over the top I stenciled in red Pan pastels a number mask that I had made with the aid of my Cameo. I used this great face stamp by Inkylicious which I embossed with black SU embossing powder. This little metal frame from Tim Holtz has been sitting waiting its turn patiently and seemed eyedeal ( pun intended ) to place over the eye. This was such great fun and I really enjoyed mixing it up a little.

I do hope you can join us over at Crafty Cardmakers there are two great prizes to be won by our very generous sponsors

Digi Doodle Shop

We are also sponsored by Hobby Art who are giving away two fabulous stamps sets and this is what they have to say.

Well the fact is that they have been behaving themselves lately and havent eaten or destroyed any of my stamps/supplies and creations.

Right am off to cook lunch and will pop by you all later to see what you have been up to.

Get Creative Card Challenge May 20th

Good Morning Bloggers !!!! As it’s the 20th of the month its time for our card challenge over at Get Creative and we where given a wonderful sketch to work with. Now I hope you can all bear with me on this one and ignore any grammatical and spelling mistakes in this post as I seem to have mis- placed my glasses ! We had a little party here last night until the small hours and on arising  rather late I may add it seems they have disappeared !! Even the spare pair have legged it !!! So am definitely suffering from bloggers blindness and coupled with well shall we say with  a little over indulgment it all adds up to a bit of a pigs ear in the blogging department. Dont you just hate spell check !!! too many choices and none of them I can see properly so sorry !.

I used some of my new stash from Aintree finally !!  I emossed the background with a lovely new folder from Sizzix ( sorry box in the bin !! ) The stamp is from the vintage oval labels set by Just Rite and used the coordinating Spellbinders die to cut the aperture. A second Just Rite stamp for the sentiment  also with a Spellbinders  label die. I used SU Rich Razzlebury and Marina Mist inks. For the flowers  ( well they where flowers to begin with ) I cut up some Sfragidomania chipboard inked it in Rich Razzlebury and the double embossed it with UTEE. Added some over -sized pearls to the centre and some ribbon from my stash.

Here is the gorgeous sketch we had been given to inspire us and hopefully you !

Do pop over to Get Creative to see the beautiful and inspiring inspirational  pieces from the rest of our Design Team and who knows you may be one of our lucky winners. There’s  a fabulous prize for our lucky winner from the very generous Celine Navarro of Green Frog Studio check out our blog for all of the details.

Right am off out for a spot of lunch , well as soon as I’ve found my glasses and done the washing up !!!

Marie

Hello all from a gloriously sunny Thessaloniki  and about time too !! It’s the 5th of the month and time for a new card challenge over at Get Creative where our lovely leader Irini is asking us to create a card using a wreath . Instead of following the bosses orders and what a lovely, talented and creative person she is  ( do you think that’s enough crawling ! ) I decided to make a wreath without a card ! and here it is ….. I took a simple wreath made from polystyrene and wrapped it with various pieces of ribbon and fabric. I used heart pins to secure it and then used a gorgeous chipboard wreath which was kindly denoted to the Get Creative DT by Sfragidiomania covered it with pink Stazon and then double embossed it with UTEE . I made a rolled flower with some lovely striped DP don’t remember who’s,  what a surprise  ! Secured it to the wreath with another pin and there you have it. Do pop over to Get Creative to see the Design Teams amazing cards I was totally blown away when I saw them and also see the fabulous prize by our very generous sponosor Celine Navarro  fromThe Green Frog Studio   I  would like to say a big thank you to all of you who have followed me over to WordPress it means so much to me, I had over 220 followers on blogger and lost them all when I moved over here so it’s lovely to see so many friendly faces . The last eight months has been a real roller coaster ride for me and I’m eternally grateful that you have been here for me. Before I forget,  for the cheekier amongst you , no,  that was definitely not a picture of hubby on my last post,  hubby has a beard !!!   Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.   Marie

Get Creative 20th April Card Sketch Challenge

Its time for our last challenge of the month over at Get Creative and our lovely and talented  leader Irini has given us the following sketch to work with.

Image

The design team have been very generously given a gorgeous goody bag of chipboard elements to play with and use in our creations by the fantastic sfragidomania.

Image

Here is my take on the Sketch

Image

I cut several square frames with my Cameo and stamped with a baroque stamp and inked the edges. Layered them one on top of the other to give dimension. I used a Sizzix embossing folder with shattered glass effect and ran a piece of acetate through it in the Big Shot. The chipboard chandelier was inked with Stazon in black and then three layers of clear UTEE were added. Some pearls from my stash. I also added UTEE to the sentiment wich was also generated by my Cameo. I was trying to give the impression of a fallen chandelier , it’s a bit of a standing joke in our house when something goes wrong then someone usually trots out the phrase ” it was like that when I got here ” on showing this to my husband though he didn’t get the joke so I hope some of you do ! Sorry about the rubbish photo but as most of you know acetate is a bit on the tricky side to photograph.

Do pop over to Get Creative to see what my fabulous team mates have come up with to inspire you and the see the fabulous prize that is on offer. We have once again been sponsored by the very generous Tina Suitella .

I am a little behind in commenting this week as my New I Pad fell into a bucket of water ( don’t ask !!! ) and am in mourning for its loss. I usually take it to work with me to help with my commenting , lucky i am the boss ! Due to its sudden demise and until I get a replacement I hope you can all bear with me.

Right that’s me folks off to earn a penny or too

Take care

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 66 ” Fantasy “

Yesterday in Greece we celebrated Easter and the sun came out and stayed all day ! Not only where we able to roast our lambs on the spit but we where able to roast our bodies too ! Well I did any way ! You could certainly tell who was British amongst our contingent , all of the Greeks sat in the shade with their sun glasses on and a certain British person sat in full view of the sun without protection or glasses. Needless to say I am looking a bit like a patchwork quilt today and a very unattractive one at that. After twenty-three years of living here you would think I would be a little used to it by now but no siree not me, as soon as I see the sun I come over all touristy and park myself underneath it. Now the truth be told I do work all day so I don’t get much of a chance but when I do I’m off in my car to the beach !

Over at Crafty Cardmakers our lovely and talented leader Lin has chosen ” Fantasy ” as our theme for the next two weeks. I really enjoyed getting inky and messy so much so that I made two cards and here they are for your perusal.

The image is courtesy of The Graphics Fairy , The stamp is from a children’s stamping set and of course I have no idea who made it as the box has long been discarded . Embossed with SU embossing powder. Waco ( great name ) gold crackle paint was used for the base and then coloured with Marina Mist ink by SU. After I had distressed the edges of the card with my fab but very noisy Zutter distressing tool ( they really should give free ear plugs with it I  ) went a bit mad with the Encore Ultimate metallic Gold ink but it was great fun.

Again the image is courtesy of  The Graphics Fairy edged in gold ink as above and positioned onto …. well am not exactly sure what it is, paper like material that I got from my local craft shop., again went a bit mad with the gold. The wings were made with my Cameo, coloured with Marina Mist from SU and then embossed with three layers of clear UTEE, bobbly trim from my stash and blue foam for the border cut with one of my Sizzix bigs dies .

Our two fab sponsors are, firstly
$15 Gift Certificate to the Crop Stop Store
and our second sponsor is
$10 Gift Voucher
Do pop over to Crafty Cardmakers to see the fabulous creations made by my team mates to inspire us all and who knows you could be one of our lucky winners.
Right am off for a little lie down, am still recovering from working all day  every day in my shop with the run up to Easter , nothing to do with the excesses of yesterday you understand.
Take care
