Spring

A big thank you to everyone who popped over to visit my little sister at Crafting with Mabel for her first ever blog post. I know she truly appreciated it as did I.

Spring is in the air !!!! well it appears once or twice a week here in Greece and then reverts back to winter, having said that I have been inspired by so many spring cards I’m seeing that I decided to enter a few challenges.

The embossing folder is by Altenew which I coloured with distress oxides very carefully as I only wanted the raised portion of the leaves to have colour. These gorgeous little butterflies by Pinkfresh studios are part of a set including hot foil plate, stencils and dies which I have used here and I love the effect. The sentiment is by Yana Smakloula also using a hot foil plate and co-ordinating die cut banner and to finish some little gold blobs (technical term) by Pinkfresh studios.

I would like to enter the following challenges.

DIES …………….

Well, here I am back for a second post in a year, that’s one more than last year! I’m really determined to take part in lots of challenges and hopefully keep the creative juices flowing. Plus I have a huge incentive as I’ve talked my little sister Kal at Crafting with Mabel into starting a blog, she’s been crafting for a few years but has never posted anything so if you have a moment pop over and say hi and give her a little encouragement.

I’ve noticed that there are quite a few challenges for die cuts at the moment and boy do I love my dies I’ve invested quite heavily in them over the past few months mainly after watching the amazing Terese from Lost in Paper, that woman has cost me an absolute fortune! Definitely worth every penny though.

So without further ado…..

I recently bought this lovely oval die frame and by accident threw away the packaging as you do, so if anyone can enlighten me as to which company it belongs to please let me know The flower die is Antique Rose by Altenew cut using three layers of card, distress oxides in picked raspberry and broken china for the background splashed with water. The sentiment is by Yanna Smakoula hot foiled in pink and cut with a matching die-cut banner. Sequins and acetate complete the card.

I’m entering my card into two challenges

Can You Handle The Pressure?

Well, what a very apt title !!!!

I first started creating cards way back in 2010 and did so for several years making wonderful friends along the way. I took a break for a few years due to ill health, life, and lack of time. I continued to make cards but just didn’t post them. I recently looked back at those early days through my blog there were so many wonderful memories and loads and loads of my terrible cards !! What really stood out were the friendships and laughter shared with crafty friends so……. I have decided to give it another go and Can You Handle the Pressure just so happens to be the name of the challenge blog !!!!!! so let’s see if I can.

Anything Goes Embossing With A Twist of THINK SPRING

A simple card using the Fabulous Altenew 3d embossing folder Decorative Florals. I ran it through my Spellbinders Platinum and used Distress Oxide inks to colour the image which is also beautiful left as is but as the challenge has the twist Think Spring I decided to add some colour. I finished it off with a hot foil sentiment by Yana Smakula which unfortunately doesn’t show up well in the photo,a little gem a Spellbinders frame and there it is!

Do pop over to Can You Handle The Pressure and check out the DT and their fantastic creations,I’m so glad I’ve found a challenge for embossing folders I’ve got loads of the blighters !

Till then ,take care.
