Addicted to CAS Challenge # 39 Texture

Hello lovely ladies !

A huge thank you to all who took part in my ” Off the Edge ” challenge at ATCAS so many amazing entries I’ve really got my work cut out for me choosing my winners, tune in on Monday to see who they are.

This time round our hostess with the mostest the wonderfully talented Vicki who has chosen a great code word and one that is very much in vogue

ATCAS - code word texture

Tons of possibilities with this one.

what did I make……

IMG_4530

I love vellum and use it quite a lot as it embosses beautifully , I used my spellbinders heart dies for the centre and then colored a couple of them with pink Pan Pastels. A variety of  embossing folders were used and lovely little die cut and embossing set from SU. Added a few sequins and as you can see I still haven’t learnt how to scatter them in a care free manner and there you have it.

Our sponsor for the next fortnight is Scribbles Designs

sd sponsor

They are most generously offering three digital designs for the winner.

Do pop over to ATCAS to see what the rest of the talented and gorgeous DT have come up with . The fabulous and funny Darnell also will be sharing one of her creations with us so definitely not to be missed.

I’d also like to link up to Less is More who are asking us to use die cuts on our cards. Its been ages since I joined in and I see there are a some fabulous new additions to the team.

LIM for blinkie

I’ll be back next week to share my holiday experiences and some photos with you of my trip to meet Florence and Kylie in Spain. One thing I can say was that it was a trip of a lifetime and I can’t thank those lovely ladies enough I have so many wonderful memories…..

Take care and have a wonderful weekend.

ATCAS # 31 Love

Hello gorgeous girls !

Time for a new challenge at ATCAS and for the next fortnight we have a fantabulous theme for you all .The lovely and talented Jaydee our newest ATCAS team member is our hostess so come and see what she has chosen as her code word

ATCAS - code word love

Well I think you’ll agree this is the perfect code word for this time of year,  come and see what I made and I have to warn you that there is actually some stamping involved !!!!!!!

IMG_1703

I created the frame with the Spellbinders card creator and cut a couple of hearts with Ms Cameo. Coloured the hearts with Pan Pastels and stamped them with an IndigoBlu crackle stamp. Sentiment courtesy of SU,  can you believe it I actually got down and dirty , well actually pink/blue and pastelly !!!

Not satisfied with only one card and loving the chalky mess made with my PP’s I made something very similar using a SU swirly whirly stamp ( yes more stamping and Pan Pastelling ) I needed a little lie down and a gin after that !

IMG_1709

I see that CAS-ual Fridays has a great theme that I think these cards fit into perfectly so will be linking up there too.

Get Creative April 5th Card Challenge

Hello lovely ladies hope you are all well and for those of you that celebrated Easter last weekend I trust you are all back on your diets ! Here in Greece we will be celebrating Easter in May so hopefully we can combine roasting the traditional lamb on the spit with a swim in the Med afterwards instead of shivering in the cold !

Time for a new challenge at Get Creative and our crazy leader Irini has a doozy for us, she is asking us to make an odd-shaped card not rectangle or square , lots of room for inspiration here so come and see what I came up with

IMG_3136

This challenge  really should have been a doddle for me as I have over 1300 cutting files at my disposal but it seems that too much choice can be more of a hinderance than anything else. Of course my Cameo was once again fired up and cut three different layers of card stock. I added some tiny foam squares between the top two layers to give dimension and some pearls, twine and buttons to make it look like I actually did something ! I really don’t know what came over me making this frock I’m not really a girly girl and this is as far away from my style as you can get

Onto my next creation, wasn’t too sure about this one as it looked a bit rectangularish ( can I say that ! ) but the fancy frame persuaded me to give it an airing .

IMG_2565

Another Cameo Creation but this time I coloured the frame with Pan Pastels and cut some cork to represent one of the trees and boy was it a bugger to cut and get the right size.  The sentiment, background paper and the birds up the tree are all courtesy of my Cameo .  I really am digitally challenged and this took absolutely forever to do, you girls that work with digis I would defo take my hat off to you  if I wore one so instead I will raise my glass !! Cheers !

I would also like to link to Everybody -Art Challenge who are looking for shaped cards and Milk & Coffee who are looking for ” Anything but Square “

We would love for you to join us at Get Creative why not pop over and see the fabulous creations my fellow team mates have come up with to inspire you all, not only that but there are a few changes afoot …….curious !!!!  well there’s only one way to find out !

We are one again sponsored by Get Creative Embellishments

On my last blog post I showed the following photo and asked you all to guess what the girls where doing to me

IMG_3072

Well what a mean lot you are, most of the replies where alcohol related but as most of you know I don’t need to be held down when gin is involved and  think the lovely Karen did mention that. The reply that made me laugh out loud and the winner for her ongoing  meanness and bad taste is Florence of Florence and Freddie fame who said that they where removing my moustache !!!! Cheek !!!

Florence can you please email me your address as I would love to send you a ” little something “

Right am off now for a little light refreshment, take care and wish you all a wonderful weekend.

Get Creative 20th December Sketch Challenge

Time for our last challenge of the year over at Get Creative and we have a gorgeous sketch designed by our trusty leader Irini and here it is :-

421220_10151271761192994_1302661583_a

A great sketch with so many possibilities , come and have a peep at what I came up with

IMG_2586

IMG_2593

I coloured my base card with Pan Pastels and roughed up the edges with my very noisy Zutter distresser, all of the animals run for cover as soon as I start using it ! Sounds like something from a Hitchcock film ! The grey Co-ordinations card-stock was embossed and treated to a good going over with my sanding block . The beautiful frame courtesy  of Miss Cameo a few pearls added and the lovely butterfly is Hero Arts from the butterfly stamp and die cut set, coloured with Copics and the Glossy Accents.

The pretty Cameo I made myself by making a mold and filling it with iclay which is similar to Fimo but a lot softer and squishier and great fun to play with.

Do hope you will have time to join for our last challenge of the year at Get Creative the design team have come up with some fabulous cards .The winner of this challenge will be invited back as guest designer in January.

Sorry this is a short post but I  am running around like a crazy woman as am sure the rest of you are ! Our shop is open from ten till nine at night and we’re  working Saturdays and Sundays so not much free time until January so……….

I wish you all a healthy and happy Christmas a fabulous new year hopefully spent with your loved ones and families and look forward to catching up with you all over the holidays

Take care

Goodbye Addicted to Stamps and More and Hello Addicted to CAS !

Over at Addicted to Stamps and More its time for a new challenge and our theme this week is flowers a nice easy challenge I think you will agree. Sadly it will be my last as a DT member,  sniff , sniff , but do not fear I’m not going far ! The lovely Kylie owner of ATS&M has decided that one challenge blog is just not enough and the crazy but lovely lady has set up Addicted to CAS and has asked me to join the team !

This will be a fortnightly challenge and as its name suggests is strictly for the CAS card makers amongst  you we will also have some wonderful sponsors joining us so there will be prizes yippee !!!!

Our first challenge will go live on the 17th of November so do hope you can join us.

I’m really sad to be leaving this team as they are all such a wonderful group of talented ladies and we have all bonded so well but quite a few of them will be on the new DT so we can still keep in touch.

Right onto my card !

I embossed the frame with one of my Stampin up wheels and white embossing powder the frame had previously been coated with pink Pan Pastels. I raised it up with foam to give a little dimension and added a lovely piece of embossed card inside. The flower was made with a Sizzix bigs die and  coloured with Pan Pastels, the brad I made with my i-top brad maker.

I will be leaving in a few days time for London to look after my friend Dolly whom I’m sure some of you remember , as most of my time will be spent at hospital please forgive me if I’m late passing by. I would just like to thank Irini of Get Creative, Lin of Crafty Cardmakers and Kylie for being so understanding and allowing me to take a break from my DT obligations it’s very much appreciated.

I do hope you will come and play with us this week at Addicted to Stamps and More and it would be lovely to see you at Addicted to CAS on November 17th.

Take care

Marie

Get Creative November 5th Card Challenge and October Winner and Top Five

Hello lovely ladies this is a bit of a long post so if you don’t have a cuppa in your hand I suggest you go and get one !!!  Welcome to another challenge over at Get Creative but before I go any further I would just like to thank everyone that took part in our month-long card celebration in October. Each DT member and there are thirteen of us set our own challenge and chose one winner who will receive a prize offered by us. The response was amazing,  so many entries and I would just like to thank each and every one of you who took part in my CAS challenge. I was totally blown away by the quantity and quality of your creations, believe you me it was soooooo difficult to choose just one winner but rules are rules and my winner was Susan Martin with this gorgeous card

Susan your gift is on its way too you !

Here in no particular order are few cards that I really liked but where just pipped to the post

Back to Get Creative HQ and time for the November 5th card challenge and our lovely leader Irini is asking us to use a stamp we have never used before on our cards !!!! so much choice , I think I have more unused than used ! it took me days to decide but after much deliberating I finally chose this beauty by Darkroomdoor.

To be honest I wish I had chosen something simpler as I decided to use my copics and  we all know how much of a novice I am with them. I stamped the image at least a dozen times and then tried various colour combinations , all of them naff and destined for the bin. This was the best of a bad bunch so you can imagine what the others where like !!! After I finished colouring with the copics I gently added pink Pan Pastels to the image to soften the colours a little ( yes these colours are softened  !!)

Please pop over to Get Creative to see which stamps my fellow team members had languishing away untouched in their crafty stash and why not join in.

We have been sponsored by the gorgeous Natasha  who is offering this wonderful prize, you have until the 29th of the month to upload your card .

Right am off for a cuppa am exhausted don’t know about you !!!

Take care

Addicted to Stamps ” Make your Mark ” and ” The Fullness of Time “

Hello lovely ladies,  hope I find you all wonderfully well and fighting fit. Darnell if you are reading this I hope your back is better and you are avoiding hammocks !
Time once again for another  challenge over at Addicted to Stamps were our theme is ” Make your Mark ”  In other words girls get out those markers and go to town,  you are free to make anything you wish as long as those markers are involved. I may be on the DT for ATS but my colouring leaves a lot to be desired as you will shortly see but if you pop over to ATS you will be truly inspired , no really I mean it, my team mates are so talented , I think they just let me join in cos they feel sorry for me. Anyways here are my offerings.

Gorgeous LaBlanche stamp, the wings , eyes and lips coloured with Promarkers and then glossy accents added to lips and eyes. When dry I rubbed all over, ( the image not me ) with pink Pan Pastels and added a Silver marker to the edge. Matted with blah blah blah and a little photo corner cut with my Cameo. Spellbinders Edgeabiliies for the border and some lovely grey pearls. Not satisfied with this I decided to treat you all to another mediocre card……

This lovely spellbinders die with holes in ( sorry don’t know the name, don’t have the packaging and too tired to look it up ) I cut two of them and joined them with a piece of card for the base. The stamp is Penny Black coloured with promarkers and once again Pan Pastels brushed lightly over the top , Ta da !!!

I would just like to thank everyone who has supported us over the past few weeks at ATS , we are a new challenge blog with a fabulous DT  ( except for me ) and we love to see your wonderful crafty creations . I do hope you will pop over and pay us a visit and maybe even take part we would dearly love to see your gorgeous work.

Lately I have been begging your forgiveness for my lack of commenting and said in previous posts that all will be revealed in ” The Fulness of Time ” about my secret mission. well I have had several emails ( ok five ) from nosey crafters who obviously are too impatient to wait for ” The Fulness of `time ” to take its course. There were also some super cheeky bloggers one being Maria from Made by Maz ,  who even had the audacity to try to bribe my sister Karen of  Tricky Little Stiches  with lace and ribbons and I think even a little fabric was offered in order to find out what I was up too !! Can you believe it,  what a nerve, luckily my little sister refused or so she says although she did mention she may be meeting up with Maria in the not too distant future so looks like you can’t even trust family !!! Once again everything has been blown out of proportion and my little crafty secret now seems so insignificant I feel as if I should make something up but I just can’t think of anything interesting.

I will just leave you with a couple of photos as  a taster if you will,  am sure the cleverer among you will work it out …….more photos to follow……….in ” The fullness of Time ”

take care

CraftyCardmakers Challenge 73 Oh I do like to be beside the seaside !

Im just back from holiday , yes no hiccups this time had a wonderful time sea, sun and swimming had the doglets with me too so a good time was had by all As luck would have it over at CraftyCardmakers Yvonne are super talented hostess for this month is asking us to create a postcard here is what she has to say

She would like a post card [6x4inches approx], showing a beach scene, and would like it to include some beach and the sea, for the background to the focal image. So as long as your creation is a postcard, is approx the right size and has a beach and sea background, anything else seaside related will be fine.

Now I had a little trouble with mine as I opted to use a digi image for the first time which has been kindly sponsored by Digi Doodle Shop. Not having used one before and not being able to use Photoshop I really struggled but with a little masking ( at least thirty sheets of paper went in the bin ) and a bit of hit and miss stamping I finally got there in the end, so here is what I came up with

I used the lovely sailing boat digi by Digi Doodle Shop and printed it onto shiny white card, the sentiment and bird stamps are courtesy of Crafty Individuals as is the lovely design paper which was printed onto acetate and laid over the top of the card.

Again I’ve used the sailboat image stamped the Lifes a Beach image by Crafty Individuals onto glossy card and coloured with various Pan Pastels, restamped the same image onto acetate and placed it over the first image to give a bolder impression. Again I used Crafty Individuals design paper printed onto acetate and laid it over the top. Have to say my masking is rubbish here but after at least thirty attempts I kid you not I was losing the will to craft !
Please pop over to Crafty Cardmakers to see the fabulous postcards my fellow team mates have created . We have two fabulous sponsors this month

I see that the lovely ladies over at Artful Times are looking for acetate to be included into our projects and hope these fit the bill, it’s absolutely ages since I joined in their challenges I do hope they forgive me.

Before I go would just like to remind you all that our DT call is still open so for those of you who think they would like to be part of this fabulous group of talented crafters please pop by CraftyCardmakers for more details.

Right that’s all from me will pop by and see you all later I’m off to my Pilates class

Take care

Addicted to stamps Sketch Challenge

This is a scheduled post and a stupid one at that as I will explain later. Hopefully I am sunning myself on the beautiful island of Lesvos or am partaking of the waters , and no, not what you are thinking that I am on the gin ( if truth be known  I am more likely than not on the gin ) this island is the third largest in Greece and well-known for its hot springs which supposedly have healing properties so hopefully I will return revitalized and rejuvenated and all manner of re things.

Over at Addicted to Stamps its time for our next challenge which is a sketch and no I’m not going to show you the sketch as I don’t want to confuse you as my card bears absolutely no resemblance to it ! Due to me being a very dizzy blond senior when I saw the email  with the sketch I only paid attention to half of it. Now for the past week or so I have had serious lack of internet and have been unable to access the Addicted to Stamps admin blog let alone anyone elses. So when I went to upload my card I saw that I had followed the sketch incorrectly but didn’t have time to make a new one so………. in order to share something with you here is my card ,please DO NOT USE THIS FOR INSPIRATION !!!!! head on over to Addicted to Stamps to see what the other members of the DT have come up with ( They can all read ) !!!!! and have followed the sketch beautifully.

I used Spellbinders dies to make the aperture and co coordinating Justrite stamp inked with Rich Razzlebury by SU a tiny weeny bit of colouring on the flowers with Copics ( I bought them so I’m using them ! ) The sentiment is also by Justrite stamped with  Marina Mist by SU and the oval is coloured with Pan Pastels. I think I have more blue on this one than I did in our Addicted to Stamps blue challenge,  oh dear !

Please excuse the lack of commenting on your blogs but I promise I will make it up to you upon my return , this is the first holiday I have had with hubby for a few years and as some of you may remember I spent a long time too- ing and fro -ing to the UK last year to support my dear friend Maria who lost her husband to Cancer at Christmas so was unable to take a little break with Teo. He really was a rock through it all , not only did he work continually in our business and look after our children and doglets but he was a huge crutch emotionally for me and I love him dearly.

Enough of the soppy chat, wishing you all well and will catch up as best I can upon my return.

Take care

Addicted to Stamps ” Clean and Simple “

Not only is our theme this week over at Addicted to Stamps entitled ” Clean and Simple ” but this post is going to be the same ! Due to my lack of internet over the last 24 hours and it taking me just as long to post this  I am keeping this super quick.  My nerves are frayed and jangled , not a pretty combination in anyones book ! ( I do love a bit of drama now don’t I ) so without further ado let me show you the CAS card I made .

I coloured my cardstock with Pan Pastels to give this lovely pale pink and blue effect. Cut the hearts with my Cameo and taking a lovely crackle stamp from IndigBlu and without using an acrylic block inked up the stamp and pressed it randomly on top as I didn’t want full coverage. The sentiment is from Stampin Up’s  Vintage Love set. Popped the hearts up with a little foam and there you have it CAS… I decided it looked a little too simple so  made a fancy heart envelope to go with it and coloured the lacy part with pink Pan Pastels .

Still not satisfied I made a tiny envelope again with my Cameo and embossed it and filled it with lots of tiny pink and blue hearts once again coloured with Pan Pastels , these little buggers took longer to make than the card as I had to colour both sides and they kept floating all around my craft room and disappearing when I sprayed them with my fictive spray. Needless to say the mutts were locked out during this process as they have been known to eat many a crafty creation which finds its way onto the floor !

There are tons of hearts still in the envelope but I couldn’t be bothered to get all of the little suckers out  !

Please pop over to Addicted to Stamps to see what the rest of the talented Design team have made for your viewing pleasure and thank you once again to all of those who played along last week, once again some fabulous entries.

Before I go just wanted to say that I will be missing for the next week as I celebrate my birthday on saturday 52 !!!!!! yes I know I don’t look it lol ! Hubby has arranged a holiday to the beautiful Greek island of Lesvos    for us , its been quite a while since we managed to have a holiday together so barring any health issues I will be leaving friday morning. Please excuse me in advance if my visits are a little erratic, this Island is quite mountainous and although I will have my I pad with me am not sure about the internet connection, I mean I can’t even get a good one slap bang in the city !

Wishing you all a wonderful week and especially to all of my lovely but very soggy UK blogging friends am off to the post office to mail you all a little sun !!

Ta ra

Marie
