Addicted to CAS Code Word Heart

What a fabulous response we had to our last challenge at Addicted to CAS, you lovely ladies sure do love your embossing and I know that Karen has had a really tough time picking her winners so tune in Monday to see who will the lucky winners are.

Its time though for a new code word and for the next fortnight our host will be the super talented Loll who has chosen :-

ATCAS - code word heart

Now normally I would be doing cartwheels and woo-hoo-ing all over the place ( not a pretty sight at my age as my children can testify )  at the thought of a heart related card as I adore them but I was a little flummoxed to say the least. I’ve made so many of them lately so I really had to get the old thinking bonnet on to come up with something new.

IMG_2834

I’ve wanted to use this little stamp for ages it a tiny weeny inchie stamp by Inkadinkado stamped with red Archival ink and then layered with a variety of Spellbinders frames. The sentiment is computer generated, super simple , so simple it took ten days to come up with it ! That blasted mojo !

Not satisfied with such a simple card I decided to challenge myself and try to make an even simpler one ( yes simpler than this ) and I did !!

IMG_2819

See told ya it was simple ! My lovely Cameo did all the hard work except add the little heart stick pin,  I take full credit for that and I think it makes all the difference !!

$10 GIFT VOUCHER
will be awarded to the CAS PERFECTIONIST
To be eligible to win the prize above, please follow the rules here.  Remember to use the code word for your inspiration and keep your creations CAS (Clean and Simple).

Its been absolutely ages since I entered a challenge and thought it was about time I dipped my tootsies back in the water so I would like to play along with Addicted to Stamps and More who are having a CAS challenge with any theme you like ! Its my first time taking part in one of their challenges and I hear on the blogvine that they have a wonderful inspirational design team !

Now while you have a spare five minutes why not pop over to Addicted to CAS to see what the gorgeous girls have come up with, I can assure you there is plenty of inspiration, why not join in the fun, go on you know you want to !

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend

Take care

Get Creative January 20th Card Sketch Challenge

Oh where oh where can my mojo be, oh where oh where can it be !!!!!!!!!! well after reading a number of my crafty friends blogs it looks like I’m not the only one who is mojoless ! I reckon the buggers have decided to take a little trip to the U.S of A and are all visiting Cha !!! There is no other explanation,  but one things for sure I hope they return with a suitcase full of inspiration and a few crafty treats wouldn’t go amiss. Actually that would be a fib I have so much stuff, new stuff even,  there is nothing that I need or indeed want but it seems like an excess of crafty goods is not a guarantee !!

Before Christmas I was very lucky to be able to purchase the new Fiskars Fuse Creativity System, The Craftwell ebosser and a fab Janome embellishing machine but zip, nadda,τιποτα ! I still can’t seem to get in the swing of things and not only in the crafty department which is why I struggled so much with the sketch which has been designed for us by the fabulous Irini at Get Creative

479901_10151271764097994_707443243_a

I really loved the sketch and there where so many possibilities I even got my Dylusions out but to no avail…..and I  still have pink and purple fingers a week later as a reminder of my efforts but for some reason I just couldn’t pull the mess together into a card.

At the eleventh hour I had a light bulb moment and although not crazy about the result I don’t think what I came up with was half bad but I will let you all be the judge of that , think I’m most probably a little delusional due to lack of sleep/mojo etc. Also due to lack of light the true depth of this magical ( insert laugh here ) card is not apparent but after seeing the reaction of one of my true followers ( Ziggy the cat ) I realise that this is indeed a masterpiece.  (Dont worry I have booked an appointment with a ” specialist “)

So here it is ………

IMG_2786

IMG_2779

I used my Cameo to create this holey card and was quite pleased that by chance some of the holes were in fact the correct fit for my eyelets, so out came the crop-o-dile , bit of a bugger but I got there in the end.. The larger of the buttons fit snuggly into the holes although it was touch and go for a while trying to find the matching buttons for the holes. The sentiment is SU stamped with Archival red brillance ink.

So there you have it , we would love to see you over at Get Creative so why not pop over and see what the rest of my teamies have come up with and why not join in   the winner will be invited back as guest designer for March.

Right time for bed, I have a tough day of lazing around tommorrow and need to keep my strength up

ATCAS – Challenge #4 Embossing

Its time for our first challenge of 2013 at Addicted to CAS and our code word for the next fortnight has been chosen by the very lovely and talented Karen

ATCAS+-+code+word+embossing

Here is my little number

IMG_2738

I used this lovely Delicate Doilies stamp from Inspired by Stamping which I embossed using white SU embossing powder. Joanna from Inspired by Stamping also offers the digital die cut for this set of stamps so I was able to cut the doilie shape with my Cameo and pop up the base with some foam which was then placed inside the doilie cut out.
The bottom of the card was dry embossed with this lovely little Sizzix embossing folder, a couple of red pearls, actually they started off as white but I coloured them with a red Copics marker, and there you have it !
We have an awesome sponsor again for this challenge. Please let me introduce you to

Get Creative 5th January Card Challenge

Hello lovely ladies and HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!!!!!

I’m finally back in my crafty den after three weeks working flat-out in my shop for the Christmas holidays. I really missed you all and your crafty endeavors and hopefully I can now start to catch up .

Over at Get Creative we have our first card challenge of the new year and our lovely leader Irini is asking us to make a new years card.

I had a little problem  as  the Christmas spirit just didn’t visit me this year not even in the alcoholic form. Mr P and I are still trying to fight off a nasty flu virus which has firmly attached itself to both of us and refuses to budge !

Needless to say Christmas lunch which I cooked for 12 was left untouched by myself and as soon as it was served I retreated to my bed and then a repeat performance occurred for new year !!

As you will see my card apart from having the number 13 isn’t  a typical new years card but I wanted to demonstrate growth, colour and nature and new beginnings and it you believe that  you will believe anything !

Despite everything I really enjoyed making this card and loved the outcome which is a rare thing indeed for me, I can count on the fingers of one hand how many of my cards I really like, so here it is and hope you like it too !

IMG_2679

The image was created using my clever Cameo and then coloured with Copic markers this is about my 5th attempt as I kept messing up the colouring.. Glossy Accents added to the red and lots of tiny seed beads on the centre of the flower and attached to a beautiful Spellbinders frame . I die cut  the numbers several times and  layered them to give depth, crackle paint and Copics of various colours added and topped of with crackle accents. The side panels are also Spellbinders am getting slightly addicted to them and although I love my Cameo you just cant beat the embossing that you can achieve with these dies.

I do hope you will find time to play along with us at Get Creative the rest of the design team have created some beautiful cards to inspire you all . We are being sponsored this month by Enjoy Scrapping who will be offering a mystery prize, we also have two guest designers this month the lovely and talented Erina, and Aliki both of whom are not only very talented but two of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet.

Right am off to work ( when will this madness stop  ! )

Wishing you all a healthy and happy new year

Take care

Get Creative 20th December Sketch Challenge

Time for our last challenge of the year over at Get Creative and we have a gorgeous sketch designed by our trusty leader Irini and here it is :-

421220_10151271761192994_1302661583_a

A great sketch with so many possibilities , come and have a peep at what I came up with

IMG_2586

IMG_2593

I coloured my base card with Pan Pastels and roughed up the edges with my very noisy Zutter distresser, all of the animals run for cover as soon as I start using it ! Sounds like something from a Hitchcock film ! The grey Co-ordinations card-stock was embossed and treated to a good going over with my sanding block . The beautiful frame courtesy  of Miss Cameo a few pearls added and the lovely butterfly is Hero Arts from the butterfly stamp and die cut set, coloured with Copics and the Glossy Accents.

The pretty Cameo I made myself by making a mold and filling it with iclay which is similar to Fimo but a lot softer and squishier and great fun to play with.

Do hope you will have time to join for our last challenge of the year at Get Creative the design team have come up with some fabulous cards .The winner of this challenge will be invited back as guest designer in January.

Sorry this is a short post but I  am running around like a crazy woman as am sure the rest of you are ! Our shop is open from ten till nine at night and we’re  working Saturdays and Sundays so not much free time until January so……….

I wish you all a healthy and happy Christmas a fabulous new year hopefully spent with your loved ones and families and look forward to catching up with you all over the holidays

Take care

Addicted to CAS Challenge 3 Code Word ” Sweet “

Time for our third challenge over at Addicted to CAS but before I go any further I would just like to thank all of the lovely ladies who took part in our last challenge hosted by my good self with the code word ” Bauble ” what a fantastic response  I was totally blown away by all of the fabulous entries and believe you me I’ve had a tough time choosing my winners. Do pop over to Addicted to CAS on Monday to find out who they are.

Now our next challenge is hosted by the lovely and talented Patrice and her code word is………..

ATCAS+-+code+word+sweet

So much scope for this one , having said that it was a bit of a toughie as I don’t own anything remotely sweet related so after much deliberation this is what I came up with

IMG_2540

Sweet 16 !!!

I cut all of the numbers by hand……….well I used my hand to press the buttons on my Cameo , matted and layered on pink and black card and added pink stickles to the 16,  done !!

Not satisfied with my card I thought I would have a go at making a sweet treat box so off I went to my local sweetie shop to try to buy candy to match my design paper and I think I did a pretty good job ! of course while I was there I had to sample some of the goodies…….

IMG_2525

Once again my Cameo obliged by  cutting this lovely Design Paper by SU ( if only the Cameo could assemble the box it would be so much easier )  oh and of course the treat cup is also a SU goodie .

Still not satisfied with my efforts and  as the general opinion in my household was ” its a bit boring ” I did try explaining  the CAS aspect but it fell on deaf ears, throwing caution to the wind and my superb good taste out of the window I decided to add a little humour . Be warned…… the next photo is a little ” gross ” as our lovely leader Kylie so eloquently put it when she saw it

IMG_2552

Sweet Tooth ……….or teeth even !!!!! not very CAS, not in very good taste and most probably not very funny but I just couldn’t resist !!!

If that last photo hasn’t put you off do pop over to Addicted to CAS to see the gorgeous inspirational and tasteful I may add creations from my fellow team members.

We are once again sponsored by the lovely and  talented Joanna Munster from Inspired by Stamping who is offering a twenty dollar gift voucher to be spent in her online store. Joanna has some amazing and inspirational goodies so much so that I have even had a bit of a shop myself !

Here is a little about Joanna who also happens to be our guest designer
about-me
Inspired by Stamping

Hi my name is Joanna Munster, owner/designer/illustrator of Inspired by Stamping. I started crafting 11 years ago when I started capturing my daughter’s special moments with scrapbooking. I quickly fell in love with all things crafty including cross stitch, crocheting, knitting, drawing, jewelry making but my love has always been towards the paper craft industry. It is a place where I can lose myself in creating for hours.

Two years ago, my hubby, myself and our three children moved from the United States to Australia. While waiting for my working visa, I started drawing and paper crafting full time with my blog. One of my dear friends suggested that I make a stamp set with one of my drawings and this is where Inspired by Stamping started. I love every moment of working in this industry from the beautiful women and men that I meet daily, to the amazing designs that I see with an Inspired by Stamping set. October 15th 2012, we celebrate our first year of Inspired by Stamping and it is exciting to say that we are growing and expanding! 🙂

Joanna is offering this prize to the winner of this challenge –

$20 GIFT VOUCHER

I do hope you will find the time to join us at Addicted to CAS and cant wait to see what you come up with.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend

Addicted to Cas Code Word ” Bauble “

Hello lovely ladies, its time for our second challenge at Addicted to CAS and for the next fortnight I will be your hostess so please do keep an eye out for the drinks trolley and buffet cart, I’ll be the one with the little white pinny and Gin and tonic in hand !

First of all a HUGE thank you to everyone who took part in our first ever challenge hosted by our lovely leader Kylie , what an amazing response 132 entries !!!!!

`One of the hostessing requirements for each challenge is to choose the theme or in our case here at Addicted to CAS our code word,  so for mine I have chosen……

ATCAS+-+code+word+baubleSo what comes to mind with my code word, maybe a tree decoration an item of jewellery I’ll let you decide, what did I come up with…….

IMG_2353

I’m not a flashy girl and goodness knows how I came up with the code word bauble , I was most probably thinking of jewllery at the time ( I’m a jeweller ) but try as I might I just couldn’t come up with a card depicting trinkets of any sort. So if any of you can I would dearly love to see them !

IMG_2331

Whoever said CAS is easy never made a card with rhinestones !!! Would you believe that it took me nearly three hours to attach the little buggers !! I’d recently bought a heating implement rather like a soldering iron and some gorgeous rhinestones and thought they would be perfect for the theme……what a nightmare the pesky things kept escaping and disappearing inside the aperture ! I’d glue one down with the heat thingy and its neighbour would complain and shift position ! when I’d finished the card and lifted it up all I  could hear where the stray little rhinestones moving around inside,  so its ended up as a shaker card !!!!

Bauble shape courtesy of my Cameo,  Sentiment and ink SU and nerves of steel curtsey of yoga and meditation !!!

I also made another much simpler card nerves of steel not required here just a couple of embossing folders, a frame from my Cameo and once again SU sentiment and ink

Less is More ” Glamour and Glitz “

Hello lovely ladies, super quick post from me as I have the  “mange ” (well flu to be precise ) Last week upon my return from London I found both hubby and number 2 son a coughing and a sneezing. I of course being the compassionate person that I am called them wimps and told them to stop feeling sorry for themselves , only to catch the dreaded lurgy a few days later !!!! that will teach me !

I just wanted to share this little card with you before I crawl back into bed that I made for

the current Less is More challenge whose theme this week is Glamour and Glitz ! A bit tricky trying to combine CAS with glitz and glamour but here goes nothing !

I used Tim Holtz large and small rosette dies using various papers from my stash and my new ebosser to cut them. The larger one was dipped in Glossy Accents and then tons of glitter added. For the central embellishment I made a mold with some of that fun putty stuff and an old button ( can’t remember the name of it ! ) it sets in about five minutes then added UTEE that I had melted in my Ranger melt pot ( clear, white and blue ) filled the mold and five minutes later ta da ! The embossing and scalloping are all done with a fab new set by SU that I purchased by way of the lovely Vicky from Crafting Clares Paper Moments, I just adore it and am sure it will feature on many more projects to come.

Do pop over to Less is More so much to see and admire as always.

Right am back off to bed with a nice mug of hot cocoa 1

Take care

Marie
