Get Creative January 20th Card Sketch Challenge

Oh where oh where can my mojo be, oh where oh where can it be !!!!!!!!!! well after reading a number of my crafty friends blogs it looks like I’m not the only one who is mojoless ! I reckon the buggers have decided to take a little trip to the U.S of A and are all visiting Cha !!! There is no other explanation,  but one things for sure I hope they return with a suitcase full of inspiration and a few crafty treats wouldn’t go amiss. Actually that would be a fib I have so much stuff, new stuff even,  there is nothing that I need or indeed want but it seems like an excess of crafty goods is not a guarantee !!

Before Christmas I was very lucky to be able to purchase the new Fiskars Fuse Creativity System, The Craftwell ebosser and a fab Janome embellishing machine but zip, nadda,τιποτα ! I still can’t seem to get in the swing of things and not only in the crafty department which is why I struggled so much with the sketch which has been designed for us by the fabulous Irini at Get Creative

I really loved the sketch and there where so many possibilities I even got my Dylusions out but to no avail…..and I  still have pink and purple fingers a week later as a reminder of my efforts but for some reason I just couldn’t pull the mess together into a card.

At the eleventh hour I had a light bulb moment and although not crazy about the result I don’t think what I came up with was half bad but I will let you all be the judge of that , think I’m most probably a little delusional due to lack of sleep/mojo etc. Also due to lack of light the true depth of this magical ( insert laugh here ) card is not apparent but after seeing the reaction of one of my true followers ( Ziggy the cat ) I realise that this is indeed a masterpiece.  (Dont worry I have booked an appointment with a ” specialist “)

So here it is ………

I used my Cameo to create this holey card and was quite pleased that by chance some of the holes were in fact the correct fit for my eyelets, so out came the crop-o-dile , bit of a bugger but I got there in the end.. The larger of the buttons fit snuggly into the holes although it was touch and go for a while trying to find the matching buttons for the holes. The sentiment is SU stamped with Archival red brillance ink.

So there you have it , we would love to see you over at Get Creative so why not pop over and see what the rest of my teamies have come up with and why not join in   the winner will be invited back as guest designer for March.

Right time for bed, I have a tough day of lazing around tommorrow and need to keep my strength up

Toodle pip and nighty night 1

  1. Hope you have recovered from your Christmas Bug Marie.

Well what a card this is and it would make anyone feel better for sure. I love the idea of putting some things in the holes-your brain has worked magic on this.

I seem to be playing catch-up at the moment but the snow and cold waether here isn’t helping.

    Take care

    Best wishes Chrissie xx

  2. oh wow Hun see you have not lost your touch these are all stunning love how you have used those buttons hun love hugs Cherylxxxxxxx

  3. Well Marie I think your mojo has definitely got back from the CHA (less any crafting goodies I hope!!! lol). This is such a great take on the challenge sketch – I love it. It’s so different but love all the buttons and eyelets and, obviously, so does Ziggy (sure got good taste that cat!). Hope you’ve recovered from that nasty bug over Christmas.

    Hugs from snowy Somerset.

  4. So original and quirky Marie, love those buttons! Glad you’re feeling better perhaps your mojo had come out in sympathy:) Your new machines sound very technical can’t wait to see what you produce.

  5. I’ve been exactly the same Mrs P, I just haven’t been b******d doing anything, however a ray of light has appeared this weekend and I’ve made two cards. Nowhere near as fancy shmancy as yours though! This would brighten up anyone’s day with those cheery colours and beautiful embellies. Now, stop moaning, at least you’re not having to endure arctic conditions! See ya. xx

  6. Wow! You never cease to amaze me with what you come up with Marie! You always take everything to that ‘extra level’ and come up with the most unique designs. I wish I could do something half as good as this at any time!

  7. Well considering lack of mojo, this has definitely got something, love the idea of the holes and buttons filling it, would make anyone better. Hope you are too.

Lots of toys you’ve mentioned I am going to have Google!!!!!!!!!

  9. Marie!!my mojo comes and goes.i sometimes just leave crafting aside for a while. and look online for inspiration.i think yours is back,i love this card its so creative, the colors and buttons.just a beauty!

  10. Your idea of no mojo is my idea of great creativity Marie! I love the way you’ve put buttons in some of your apertures and mixed in some eyelets too. Vicky x

  11. wow what a cool card! I love all of the buttons peeking through the negative cuts! If this is you mojoless I’m stunned!

  12. WOW
If this is you missing your Mojo then you will be so much on fire when she decides to return to you after her little jaunt to U.S.A. – amazing jolts of colour and textures.
Funny how so many of us are missing our mojo, I was saying the same to a crafty friend, I just cannot get back into the swing of things, oh well.
P.S. What is all this talk of new goodies you have to play with, was Santa good to you 🙂

  13. Your card is so much fun! What a delightful idea and of course perfectly executed. Good luck with the mojo, I suffered before Xmas, but a course of antibiotics fixed it right up lol!

  14. Marie, you’ve been misinformed … your Mojo was just here … but I’ve given it a push back in your direction and it’s promised to come straight home without any stops …

I love this card … it’s so stunning and your selection of buttons really elegant!!!

  15. Hiya Marie

Ziggy the cat has good taste, this is a “wow” card for definite! I love your take on the sketch, and a beautiful collection of buttons and eyelets. I think your mojo is fine, and you do NOT need any more craft supplies – I saw how many bags you had last April at Aintree, and I’m sure you went back for more!

    Take care Marie

    Maria xxxxx

  16. Hi Marie! I love the result of your light bulb moment! You should donate it to a museum of modern art – this is the place where it belongs to!!

  17. hee hee, I’ve missed visiting you my crafty friend, always fun and japes here LOL I see no lack of mojo my dear it’s there lurking under this fab card, clever design, hugs Gay xx
