CAS.olgy Week 78: Dot

Hello lovely ladies

Just popping in with a super quick post dedicated to mine and yours the  lovely , witty and talented Darnell of djkardkreations who requested I posted more often. Well Darnell be careful what you wish for as I will be posting every other day for the next week.  So if you need to blame some one for the dinging of your in-boxes blame Darnell link above !

I always love the CAS.olgy cue words and tune in every week to see what it is and what the super talented DT has come up with to admire and inspire. Unfortunately for me its only a weekly challenge and as I’m a bit slow it takes me about six days to come up with something by which time it’s too late to take part. I have literally tons of cards that I have created for their challenges only to miss the deadline . Ladies has any one thought of a challenge site for the slower more senior crafty laggers like myself, somewhere were we can add our cards for the recently finished challenges.

Anyway on to the this weeks cue word before I miss this one as well

Week 78 - Dot

What a doozy !!!

IMG_4077

IMG_4073

Now although this card may look simple believe you me this was a bugger to create. This is a rhinestone sketch which I purchased through the Silhouette on-line store and these holes are tiny weeny things, several goes with various weight card stocks until I finally got a clean-cut and when I did I spilt glossy accents all over it. Well dripped I should say you can’t really spill Glossy Accents now can you ! The heart is red card stock smothered with GA and then die cut with a spellbinders scalloped heart. This card looks a lot more impressive in real life and I really like the shadows produced by the dots.

Sorry about the rotten photo but it’s about to dark here and if I leave it until tomorrow to photograph it I’ll miss the deadline again.! I did in-fact make two cards but poor light stopped play and was unable to get a clear enough picture,  so once again I have a spare card not submitted for CAS.olgy !

Do pop over to CAS.olgy to see the amazing DT creations and there are some fabulous entries too.

Take care and see you all Saturday for my DT card for ATCAS you hear that Darnell !!!!!!

ATCAS Challenge #29 – Die-cut(s)

Hello lovely ladies and HAPPY NEW YEAR !

Its been such a while since I posted I nearly forgot how to do it ! The run up to Christmas and New year is always a busy and very hectic time for us at The Pap residence as we own a jewellery shop and I work with my husband. This year it was decided ( by someone who has never worked in a shop ! )  that all of the shops in Greece should be open seven days a week from morning until 9.pm for three weeks . Well that’s fine and dandy if you happen to have lots of staff but if like us and the many other small businesses in Greece it means you just don’t get a break . Food shopping is the worst,  it’s always a mad dash at the last-minute to the butchers the bakers and the candlestick makers to see what I can rustle up as it falls to me to cook for all of the family Christmas day .  Mr P and I are totally knackered were just too old for this palaver and I really don’t know how many more Christmases I have in me !

On to the matter at hand  a brand new year has begun and its time for our first challenge at ATCAS. Our hostess for the next fortnight is the superbly talented and all round good egg Loll. She is one of the nicest ladies I have ever worked with and for those of you that are not familiar with her blog  ( shame on you ! )I urge you rush on over as its jam-packed full of inspirational wonderment and such.

Now what did the lovely Lollypop choose as her code word

ATCAS - code word diecuts

Well of course as soon as I saw it I did a couple of flick flacks and somersaults around the living room( well in my mind anyway ) . As my regular followers will know I LOVE my die cuts and I have all manner of Machines of the die cutting variety but what to do……so much to choose from…..I could do this , or I could do that , or even yes that thing that I have wanted to do for ages . I pored and pored over my designs and die cuts, I cut and re-cut until my desks were filled with all manner of the things and then it all went blank , I was suffering from die-cutting dementia I had all of these wonderful shapes but no clear plan and not even an unclear plan so what did i do ? well I just shoved them in a box and ignored the buggers until the deadline was upon me and I had to get moving.

After much ado and mess making, hair pulling and the gnashing of teeth ……..

IMG_3932

IMG_3928

I was inspired once again by the amazingly talented Mayuri of Candles in the Garden her card making is exquisite each piece a work of art.

I used my Cameo for the die cut which was really tricky as I use 350gsm card and it needed four passes to cut it cleanly and I had to have several attempts in order to get the result I wanted. I then took a piece of heavy card stock and sprayed it and half of my desk ( and yes I did have it in a box ) with some gorgeous Dylusions inks and then placed it under the die cut.

IMG_3952

More Cameo creativity and would you believe that I lost the birdies eye in all of the chaos and couldn’t find a black pearl or my black copics.

IMG_3958

IMG_3950

I love the 3d aspect here, I cut the image twice and then rotated one of them placing pop dots underneath  and adhering to the other to give dimension. I love how if you look closely you can see the shadow, looks a lot better in real life.

I would to add this last one to:-

Addicted to CAS challenge #27 Code Word Pet

Hello lovely ladies.

Time for a new code word at ATCAS and a big thank you from me to all who joined in our Anniversary celebrations. Check back on Monday to see who are my winners,  we had some fabulous entries and you really have made it tough for me.

Onto the challenge at hand and this time our lovely and talented Vicki has chosen a fantastic theme for the next fortnight

ATCAS - code word pet

When I first saw this I was so excited as I have three doglets Bailey and  Rosy whom I named my blog after and the newest entry Molly who I’ve had for about a month now . I then realized that I don’t own a single animal or pet related stamp ! Not to fear My Cameo once again to the rescue. I can’t say I’m totally overjoyed with the results but have been having some health related issues again which make my right hand and shoulder very painful so was put on bed rest ( well that’s my excuse anyway )

Sorry about the poor quality of the photo’s but the weather has been so miserable this week this was the best I could do.

Here’s a  photo of the little monsters looking all cute and cozy

Get Creative Card Challenge ” Hearts ” and I’ve Been Featured !

Hello lovely ladies

This is going to be one heck of a long post so if you haven’t had your beverage of choice yet I suggest you grab one and take a seat.

October 6th was world card making day and it also happened to be Get Creatives three-year anniversary . Last year each member of the Team set their own challenge and offered a prize, is was such a success that Irini the big honcho has decided to make it a regular feature each year. Although due to ill-health and some  personal problems during this year I decided to resign from the team ( which I miss terribly ) Irini kindly invited me  back to be part of the celebrations for the Get Creative three year anniversary,  so here I am and I have to say it’s been lovely to be back even if it’s just for this challenge. So the same applies as last year, each DT member has chosen their own theme and will also choose a winner. So what did I choose

Hearts

Although I’m not the romantic kind of girl hearts tend to feature a lot in my card making and to be honest I’m in need of a little inspiration . I totally adore them so……I would like for you to help me out by sharing your heart creations with me. ( cunning eh ) You can use as many or as few as you like be it digi, stamped die cut anything as long as I can see a heart. My winner for this challenge will receive Siligum Modelling Paste which is a really fun and simple way to make your own moulds.

So come and see what I made

IMG_1300

I wont bore you with all of the details I think it’s quite obvious what I did but a fair bit of crackle medium was involved !

IMG_1315

Cameo magic ! Triple layering

IMG_1260

The hearts in the frame are cut from an I-phone cover that I got in Tiger

IMG_3945

This cute stamp is from Papermania Urban Stamps , GA over copics and SU hearts embossing folder .

My prize

IMG_1317

Now I wouldn’t normally show four cards but I was shamed into it by the other DT members who all created so many for their challenges one seemed kinda mean. If you’re not a fan of hearts don’t worry there are so many other challenges running , 12 to be precise , there’s  something for everyone and each DT member is offering a prize, why not take part in all of them !!!! There will be an additional prize for one lucky winner chosen by random generator whoever he is , and has been generously donated by our sponsor

You have until the 10th of November to upload your card. So why not pop over to Get Creative  I would love to see you there for my last challenge and just want to say a big thank you to Irini who took a chance on me when I had only been making cards for a few months . I had a fabulous time working with the most amazingly talented, warm-hearted ladies and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Fascinating Fridays

I’m not finished with you yet…..just wanted to do a little trumpet blowing , I was very shocked and privileged to be the featured artist ( their words not mine )  for Paperie Designs Studio for a section of their blog called Fascinating Fridays .  I was shocked because they have featured some amazingly talented ladies all of whom are inspirations to me . So if you want to know a little more about me then I would love to see you over there.

Right think I’ve kept you long enough.

Have a wonderful week and look forward to seeing your heart creations.

Take care

Marie

Addicted to CAS Challenge 24 Transparent

Hello Lovely Ladies

A huge thank you to those of you who passed by recently to welcome me back to blogland I was touched by how many of you came to pay a visit after such a long absence. I wasn’t expecting such a crowd otherwise I would have laid a buffet on and a had a drinks bar !

Onto the matter at hand and  its time once again for a new challenge at ATCAS and our super host for this fortnight is Christine , you should really pop over and visit her blog she is one talented lady, so what did she choose for us this time……

ATCAS - code word transparent

Well I’m sure you will agree that there’s lots of room for interpretation here and if you visit the other members of the DT at ATCAS you can feast your lovely eyes on their fabulous take on the theme.

So what did I do , well…………

IMG_3979

IMG_1202

Both made mainly by my gorgeous Cameo , under my direction of course. On the first the sentiment is printed directly onto acetate and inserted into the frame , the black border is created by Spellbinders Edge-abilities and the base by Spellbinders Card Creat-abilities,  well I think that s what it’s called.

For the dapper gentleman again Ms Cameo did her thing,  including the sentiment which seeing it now here on my blog looks really teeny-weeny and a bit out of proportion . Since Silhouette America haven’t come up with making 3D googly eyes yet I had raid my stash !

I thought I would include for your perusal some shadow boxes that I made a while ago but never blogged  .I’m afraid there is a rather tenuous link to our theme  and am not sure how CAS they are except for the flower, but here goes anyway

IMG_1224

IMG_1227

IMG_1233

IMG_1235

IMG_1238

IMG_1239

On some of the boxes I have placed images both on the front and back which I’m not sure is obvious from the photo’s , a piece of thick vellum has also been attached at the back of the box and when darkness falls I light a candle behind each of them .  Of course all made using my Cameo except for the shadow boxes which are made from thick MDF. Sorry about the photo quality but its a bit tricky trying to capture the images with a candle behind !

We have a fabulous sponsor again for you this time Nicecrane Designs who is most generously offering $20 worth of digital images

NicecraneNewStoreLogo

We would love for you to join in the fun again with us at ATCAS,  it’s always such a pleasure to see your creations and you do make it hard on our hostess to choose winners each time .

Well I’m sure I’ve kept you long enough so wishing you all a wonderful weekend and will be popping by later on to see what you have been up too

Addicted To CAS challenge 23 Fall / Autumn

Hellooooooooooo lovely ladies !

I’m finally back after a four-month absence from blogland and I don’t know where to begin…..the last four months have been horrible what with my own poor health and losing a family member and close friends I really wasn’t up to crafting let alone blogging.

I would like to thank the lovely Smiley Kylie my boss at ATCAS who refused to accept my resignation and kept my place on the team, also a  huge thank you also to my teammates who covered my commenting and for their concern. So here goes my first attempt at card making after four months,  so be gentle with me.

ATCAS - code word autumn

Our host for the next two weeks is the lovely and very talented Sylvia who has chosen the code word Autumn/Fall and here is my take on the theme

IMG_3917

IMG_3915

Autumn for me is a lovely time I adore the change in colours and the beauty of the fallen leaves and wanted to create something textural.I used my embellishing machine to create this little scene using various fabrics, silks and wools this is the first time I have actually made something using this machine and I quite liked the result. The sentiment was created with my Cameo

IMG_3927

IMG_3929

I once again used the embellishing machine and made a square background,  I then cut the leaf shape with the Tim Holtz tattered florals die and created the sentiment with my Cameo.

We do hope to will join us at ATCAS and why not pop over and see the fabulous creations from the other lovely ladies on the DT.

We are  being sponsored this time by The Paper Nest Dolls who are most generously offering 25$ gift voucher to be used in their online store

pnhome_04-1

I would also like to enter my cards into CAS.ology who I see are also having an Autumn challenge

Week 63 - Autumn

look forward to catching up with you all as best as I can and can’t wait to see what you come up with for our Autumn challenge.

Take care

Get Creative June 15th Tag Challenge

Hello lovely ladies !

This is a scheduled post as I am in the UK at the moment so hopefully WordPress will do its magic and you will all be reading this at 9.00am

Time for a new tag challenge over at Get Creative and this time we have a colour challenge for you.

574883_516207285096748_1414933157_a

Please make sure you use all four colours on your tag.

IMG_3592

My darling cameo was used to cut the tag.  The smile sentiment was stamped with Archival brilliance rocket red ink and popped up with foam and a couple of stick pins added. For the heart I used my melt pot to melt some UTEE and added a few drops of  To Die For Additive in red . I then poured it into a metal heart mould and while still warm I carefully stamped it with a little Hero Arts wooden flower stamp.

I do hope you will join us at Get Creative and why not pop over to see the fabulous Design Teams amazing tags.  The winner will come back as our guest designer for August.

Oh and I should warn you that your in- boxes will be dinging in about an hour ( if WP does its job) with another scheduled post from me SORRY !!!

Right must dash as I’m off to catch my plane

Take care

ATCAS Challenge #14 – Hosted by ME !!!!!!!

Hello lovely ladies, long time no see !!!!

Well I’m finally ensconced in my new craft room its taken weeks but I’ve finally unpacked all of my boxes, of course nothing is in its rightful place and I still have lots to do but at least the to-ing and fro-ing is over. Tomorrow  Ari my youngest will have taken all his clothes to his new home so I will have a nice large wardrobe to fill up with the overspill , more of that later and onto the topic at hand. Over atATCAS we have a new code word for you chosen by moi !!! I will be your hostess for the next two weeks so what did I choose in a moment of madness….

ATCAS - code word circle

What was I thinking !!!!!!!!!! it seemed like a good idea when I chose it a few months ago, needless to say I struggled and here is the proof……

IMG_3573

I was recently introduced to Iganacio Molina of Nicecrane Designs by my fellow team-mate Flo of Florence and Freddie. Iganacio has this amazing on-line shop and when I saw some of the cards that Flo made using his digital images I was totally jealous and decided to buy some for myself. I mean if she can do it then so can I ! ( although mine aren’t a patch on hers ) so the lovely birds images have been copied onto acetate and then placed in the space left by the cut out circles. I added a piece of bevelled glass to the little birdie couple unfortunately what with the acetate and the glass I just couldn’t get a good photo and they look quite blurred here.

IMG_3529

My lovely Cameo cut the central shape and the negative space was coloured using my magic sponge and lots of different Archival inks . Once dry I covered it liberally with Glossy Accents ( nightmare ) and added another piece of bevelled glass to the centre. This really looks so much better in real life, honest !

Last but not least I  was hoping that this last card would be ready for the previous challenge at ATCAS and in truth it was but can you believe I lost it under a pile of papers and it turned up today !!!!

IMG_3365

Cameo take a bow !

We have another fantastic sponsor for the next two weeks Paper Makeup Stamps

logo-1

I do hope you will find the time to join us over at ATCAS,  it’s always a pleasure to see your beautiful cards and I know the rest of the DT have some amazing circle creations to share with you.

Right before I go I just wanted to thank those of you that have stuck with me even though I have been MIA for some time and I do promise to catch up as best I can from here on in.

I’m hoping to get away to my summer-house at the weekend to take a well-earned break I really need to sit and soak up a little sun, I’m totally exhausted from all of the goings on here at the Pap residence of course the forecast is for showers do you believe it !!!

Take care

Marie

Get Creative May 15th Tag Challenge

Hello lovely ladies and welcome to the house of madness ! Yes the chaos continues here at the Pap residence which is why am a little late posting. I’m in the process of moving my craft room back home and have been busy plastering, painting, scraping and modge podging not to mention carrying tons of my crafty stash from one place to the other. Although my studio is close to  home it’s a pedestrian area so no cars allowed great for the environment….bad for my back and shoulders and all my other bits.

Onto the matter at hand and  time for our second tag challenge over at Get Creative, we had such a great response to our first one and I do hope you will all join us again, it was fantastic to see so many familiar faces. The theme for the whole month of May is flowers and as I mentioned on my last post although I love them I’m just terribly challenged when it comes to creating with them. Once again I had very limited supplies due to everything being boxed up so here goes…..

922335_10201263276248290_113227161_o

922626_10201263282248440_1641782805_o

I once again made  a double side tag using my Fiskars Fuse to cut and deboss  it, I added Versamark to the flower to use as a resist  I then sponged over the tag using my magic foam and various Adirondack inks. Tiny golden seed beads used in the centre and some lovely hand crocheted flowers that I was generously supplied with by our leader and this months sponsor Irini  For the reverse of the tag I used this pretty thick felt which I cut de-bossed  and inked up and passed it through the Fiskars Fuse. It’s a great machine and does all three steps in one pass. I really love the effect of the ink and de-bossing  here. Not to leave my lovely Cameo out I cut some 350gsm card stock with this holey pattern and sandwiched it between the tags and there you have it.

Do pop over to Get Creative to see the amazing tags the rest of the Design Team have created you have until 30th of the month to upload your creations. The winner of the tag challenge will be invited back as guest designer for July and will also receive this fabulous gift from our leader Irini

Once again please forgive my lack of visits but hopefully things will be back to near normal within the next week or so  , well as normal as they can ever be in this house.

Take care my lovelies

Get Creative May 5th Card Challenge Flowers

Hello lovely ladies and happy Easter to all of my Greek friends and family !

For those of you that read my post yesterday I wont bore you with the details of the mayhem and madness that is prevailing in my life at the moment but get right down to matters at hand which is our new challenge at Get Creative . April showers bring May flowers is the theme for the whole of May always a popular theme…….except if you are me of course !!!! Cant seem to get the hang of the thingies !!! My team mates over at Get Creative have done a magnificent job so why not pop over and see their wonderful blooms. Don’t expect to find anyone at home though as its Easter ~Sunday here, the weather is glorious and everyone has left for their villages !

As I’m in the process of moving my studio most of my things are boxed up so I didn’t have too much to work with, to be honest even if they weren’t boxed up I would still have a problem !!!!!

920312_10201197268798145_575867258_o

A quick and easy card and I love the fabulous colours, I used a favourite Japanese print and copied it onto acetate, cut the frame with my Cameo and added a little flower

919443_10201197274278282_1447346291_o

Another simple one, this beautiful hand stitched silk fabric was given to me by a lovely friend who has my good luck would have it has a fabric shop here in Thessaloniki and has given me tons of samples the only problem is they are just too beautiful to cut up but being desperate and short of time I got my scissors out !. I did make the paper flower flowers underneath I’m embarrassed to say ! The frame once again cut by my Cameo.

We are sponsored once again by Get Creative Embellishments who have this lovely gift for the winner

DSC_000309678

We also have a wonderful guest designer this month the very talented Rania, not only a very creative lady but fun to be with and a thoroughly nice person .

Well I must dash Our boys have invited us to their new home for Easter lunch,  they have this fabulous top floor apartment with a huge 45 meter balcony and although we are guests you can image who has done all the preparations, cooking and cleaning so far……

Once again happy Easter for those who celebrate

Take care

Marie
