Hello lovely ladies !
It’s the 20th of the month and time for our final challenge for February over at Get Creative . Our lovely leader Irini has given us this fantastic sketch to work with
Come and see what I made :-
I recently bought the Majestic Elements Nestabilities dies from Spellbinders and couldn’t wait to play with them, because of the intricate design spellbinders recommend the use of freezer paper or something similar, I used baking parchment together with the cardstock in order for the paper to release more easily from the die . I loved the result so much that I decided to use the parchment instead of the card. On the larger of the two pieces I stamped this pretty doily from the set Delicate Doilies by Inspired by Stamping with Deep Purple Archival ink and then added another layer of parchment on top , I really love how the stamp shows through. I made a couple of rosettes with some lovely SU design paper and added a little flower to embellish the centre .
Here’s another card I made following the same sketch
The DP is from the Pixie Glen collection from Prima and I used Spellbinders Decorative Elements dies to cut the frames, the beautiful crocheted broach in the centre was created by our leader Irini and is from her Etsy shop Get Creative Embellishments. I added a couple of sticks pins which I coloured with Copic markers in order to match the paper
The winner of this challenge will come back as guest designer in April
Please pop over to Get Creative to see the fabulous inspirational pieces by the DT, you have until the 27th of February to upload your card .
Have been having a few health problems this week and have been confined to bed one of the disadvantages with my studio not being at home is that I have been unable to blog or comment the past few days . My iPad is very selective and so have not been able to visit you all. In order to schedule this post I have left home to come to my studio in the pouring rain in my PJ’s and a very long coat to hide my indecency ! Fortunately it’s not too far but I do look a bit like a homeless old lady !
Take care and hopefully I will catch up with you soon
Marie
Great cards once again Marie! I love it when new things are discovered during the process of doing something else – the baking parchment gives such a stunning result!
Lovely cards marie, Great colors and i am loving the dies.

These are absolutely beautiful, Marie. I have been using freezer paper to release dies, too. So sorry you have been poorly. I couldn’t cope with having a studio away from home as I like to use odd moments,

I’m so sorry to hear you are experiencing ill health .. AND confined to bed … no fun at all. Hoping for a quick recovery. The cards are over the moon! I’m totally in love. If they go missing they will be at my place and I will be admiring them and ooooing and awwwwing while I drink sangria. Take care of yourself. xoDonna
Hi Marie,
Both your cards look spectacular! I love the soft effect using the Majestic squares with your baking parchment, and your fab rosette. Love your crochet centre piece on second card. Lots of lovely texture and layers on both cards.
Take care! I hope you soon feel much better xx
Wow! Love both of these! Beautiful, just beautiful! The second card is my favorite!
Both of your cards are gorgeous.
You poor thing. I hope being out in the rain doesn’t set you back healthwise!
I actually love both cards although the crochet flower is quite gorgeous (did you create the flower yourself?). Such delicate creations.
Take good care of yourself!
Wishes
Lynne
Oh dear Mrs P, sorry to hear you’re under the weather – as they say, old age doesn’t come itself! Seriously though, hope you’re dancing around on your twinkle toes real soon. Very elegant cards, fabbie dies and gorgeous embellies. Take care. Xx
Hi Marie. I love the layered parchment nesties!! Gorgeous – so clever to use the parchment – must give that a try!! The stamped image in-behind subtly shows through – love that look. And your second card with the beautiful crocheted center is beautiful!! Thanks for always inspiring me!

The first card looks like parchment craft, so beautiful and I love the added brooch on the second a card and gift in one, wonderful.

I do hope you feel better soon, sending hugs your way. And Oh My Gosh, your cards are incredible!
What stunning layering here Marie and I love the way there’s always something unusual and exciting to look at in your cards. So sorry to hear you’re having health issues, but had to smile at the thought of you nipping over to the studio in your PJs with a coat over the top – just as long as people didn’t try to give you 50p for a cup of tea! Take care, Vicky x
Hi Marie – first of all I am so sorry that you have been poorly, and hope you feel better soon. Great cards and I love the die in the second card, its beautiful. You do some great work – I could fair fall out with you! I use Reynolds Freezer Paper its the very very best for releasing the dies. Take care sweetie and get well soon! Cxxx
