Its time for our last challenge of the month over at Get Creative and our lovely and talented leader Irini has given us the following sketch to work with.
The design team have been very generously given a gorgeous goody bag of chipboard elements to play with and use in our creations by the fantastic sfragidomania.
Here is my take on the Sketch
I cut several square frames with my Cameo and stamped with a baroque stamp and inked the edges. Layered them one on top of the other to give dimension. I used a Sizzix embossing folder with shattered glass effect and ran a piece of acetate through it in the Big Shot. The chipboard chandelier was inked with Stazon in black and then three layers of clear UTEE were added. Some pearls from my stash. I also added UTEE to the sentiment wich was also generated by my Cameo. I was trying to give the impression of a fallen chandelier , it’s a bit of a standing joke in our house when something goes wrong then someone usually trots out the phrase ” it was like that when I got here ” on showing this to my husband though he didn’t get the joke so I hope some of you do ! Sorry about the rubbish photo but as most of you know acetate is a bit on the tricky side to photograph.
Do pop over to Get Creative to see what my fabulous team mates have come up with to inspire you and the see the fabulous prize that is on offer. We have once again been sponsored by the very generous Tina Suitella .
I am a little behind in commenting this week as my New I Pad fell into a bucket of water ( don’t ask !!! ) and am in mourning for its loss. I usually take it to work with me to help with my commenting , lucky i am the boss ! Due to its sudden demise and until I get a replacement I hope you can all bear with me.
Right that’s me folks off to earn a penny or too
Take care
Marie
Lovely card, but sorry to hear of the sad, wet death of your IPad. I have never had one, but can appreciate your loss! Hugs, Valerie
Sorry about the i-pad-I am sure you miss it a lot 😦
Love the card and all that is on it-especially the acetate.
xx
wow the shatter glass background is amazing Marie and loving your fab card. Sorry about the loss of your IPad as am sure its a necessary tool for you. Happy PPF and enjoy the weekend, Annette x
I got the joke immediately 🙂 I love your card, because it´s elegant and funny at the same time!!
Have a nice weekend!
PS: So sorry to hear about your “accident”…
Hello
Well I cannot believe that is chipboard, it looks as though it is not only made from plastic but that it has my name on it LOL. The pearls are a sophisticated addition.
100% glamour.
Wishes
Lynne
An outstanding card as always Marie, love the baroque style of it including that gorgeous stamp. I hope you get your IPad replaced soon.
Have a great weekend.
hugs {brenda} xox
WOW WOW and more WOWs, I love how you have done this and love the humour too,
I adore your stacked frame with the baroque stamping Marie and the chandelier is a triumph! The sentiment made me giggle. Only yesterday my husband stood there trying to convince me that my left-over tuna pasta somehow got on the floor by itself… now I know why the cat loves him so much!
wow! soooooooo beautiful AND funny, too!! just perfect!
Lol, this is fab – so beautiful and elegant but funny too!! I could do with having this on display in my house as it’s exactly what my hubby and son say!
So sorry about your IPad, but it made me giggle too. Hope you can get a new one sorted soon.

Hiya Marie, wow! This is fabulous! I love the shattered glass effect and that chandelier is amazing – you’d never believe it is chipboard! Your card is stunning, as always. Can’t believe you dropped your iPad in a bucket of water! Put it in a bucket of rice to dry it out?
See you next week!

That’s a fantastic take on this sketch, your card looks wonderful.
Love your card, it’s hard tyo imagine that you used a piece of chipboard for the chandileer. Also sorry you lost your pad in the bucket of water, I’m sure we all do these daft things, but its not funny when it happens.

Absolutely stunning!! I love the Baroque style and the pearls add a little something extra.

Love the shattered glass on acetate…what a fab idea!
Must admit I first spotted the upside down chandelier and then when I read your post it all made sense…great card Marie :0)
Ooops about the iPad …would love to know how it happened! I would really miss my iPad too, it’s quite literally become part of me! Hope you get a replacement soon :0)
Hi Marie,
First of all…your photo isn’t rubbish!! It shows off your wonderful work beautifully. Your chandelier looks fabulous! I love the triple embossing technique, too. I’ve used that on things I’ve cut out on ‘Cameo’. Love your shattered glass technique…must try that. And your stamping looks amazing!! Your work is always a joy to see:)
OMG!! Your heart must have sunk when you dropped your iPad into the bucket of water. I rely on mine so much when I’m unable to use my compter, but they are so fragile I’m always scared of dropping mine. I hope you get a replacement soon. xx
A very eye-catching project Marie – that chandelier is awesome! The cracked glass technique is stunning, and a perfect sentiment to go with it! Hope you are still having hot sunny weather – ( I’m not envious at all ) Lol !
Christ has risen to be .. well .. Beautiful Awesome card .. then .. good to kiss my heart
Love the humour in this stunning card Marie. I knew your blog had changed but didn’t know what to, until I saw your comment on my blog:) Glad I’ve found you again, this card is beautiful and I love the framed effect!

Hello Marie! Such a lovely card! And i loved the sentiment! The way you inked The chipboard chandelier is fantastic! Also i would like to ask what is UTEE?
A fun card, Marie. Wish I could see, really see, all that UTEE. I know that it must give a special radiance to your chandelier. I hope the iPad gets fixed or replaced. I like your new blog. I have a blog on blogspot and one on wordpress. Each has its own problems but blogspot tries to change things too often for this old head.
This is fabulous Marie, I love the chandelier. I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your iPad, I don’t know what I’d do if anything happened to mine.
xxx Hazel.
Um, this is just hilarious! LOVE the way you’ve used all that texture–this is just fabulous! YES, you get a prize for laughing, giggling, AND groaning at my punny joke. {{{HUG}}} There ya go. 😉 Have a fabulous weekend!
Hi Marie-Love the upside down chandelier! and the sense of humor. It’s great you can take an everyday thing that’s said around the home and play it out on a card.
