Get Creative April 5th Card Challenge

Hello lovely ladies hope you are all well and for those of you that celebrated Easter last weekend I trust you are all back on your diets ! Here in Greece we will be celebrating Easter in May so hopefully we can combine roasting the traditional lamb on the spit with a swim in the Med afterwards instead of shivering in the cold !

Time for a new challenge at Get Creative and our crazy leader Irini has a doozy for us, she is asking us to make an odd-shaped card not rectangle or square , lots of room for inspiration here so come and see what I came up with

This challenge  really should have been a doddle for me as I have over 1300 cutting files at my disposal but it seems that too much choice can be more of a hinderance than anything else. Of course my Cameo was once again fired up and cut three different layers of card stock. I added some tiny foam squares between the top two layers to give dimension and some pearls, twine and buttons to make it look like I actually did something ! I really don’t know what came over me making this frock I’m not really a girly girl and this is as far away from my style as you can get

Onto my next creation, wasn’t too sure about this one as it looked a bit rectangularish ( can I say that ! ) but the fancy frame persuaded me to give it an airing .

Another Cameo Creation but this time I coloured the frame with Pan Pastels and cut some cork to represent one of the trees and boy was it a bugger to cut and get the right size.  The sentiment, background paper and the birds up the tree are all courtesy of my Cameo .  I really am digitally challenged and this took absolutely forever to do, you girls that work with digis I would defo take my hat off to you  if I wore one so instead I will raise my glass !! Cheers !

I would also like to link to Everybody -Art Challenge who are looking for shaped cards and Milk & Coffee who are looking for ” Anything but Square “

We would love for you to join us at Get Creative why not pop over and see the fabulous creations my fellow team mates have come up with to inspire you all, not only that but there are a few changes afoot …….curious !!!!  well there’s only one way to find out !

We are one again sponsored by Get Creative Embellishments

On my last blog post I showed the following photo and asked you all to guess what the girls where doing to me

Well what a mean lot you are, most of the replies where alcohol related but as most of you know I don’t need to be held down when gin is involved and  think the lovely Karen did mention that. The reply that made me laugh out loud and the winner for her ongoing  meanness and bad taste is Florence of Florence and Freddie fame who said that they where removing my moustache !!!! Cheek !!!

Florence can you please email me your address as I would love to send you a ” little something “

Right am off now for a little light refreshment, take care and wish you all a wonderful weekend.

Marie

  1. And you still haven’t told us what they were doing! Anyway, moustaches are in – or is that just by men? Love your cards, especially that pretty dress! Love to the pooches, Valerie

  2. Both cards are fabulous in different ways, Marie. I love your very creative dress with lovely bling, but your frame is my favourite. I love the soft pink and beige colour combination. You did a great job with your background and being an old romantic…I love those words! x

  3. Come on, when will you reveal what is actually taking place in the photo?
Cameo should be paying you Maria for all those amazing creations and the way you show off your Cameo to the highest of levels – absolutely love that adorable dress!
LOL you are too funny with your remark about the tree you handcut – I am sure all was made well with the aid of a glass of gin beside you!!!
    Wishes

P.S. Who knew that Florence could be so mean!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Both gorgeous and three miles apart in their design which is always fun. The dress (Frock – oh how I miss that word – thank you for that, Marie), sort of boggled my mind when I read how you made it. All this cameo cutting I have no clue about. I suppose with a lot of wine I might be able to put my mind to it. :o) YES … I want to know what they are doing to you as well! Fess up. We are all curious. take care – and thanks for leaving me the last drop of sangria in the pitcher. hugs, Donna

  5. Hi Marie. Two beautiful and unique cards. Love the layers of cutting for the dress to give it so much dimension … and love the fun and cheerful design and colors. The fancy frame card is gorgeous with the soft pink … love the trees!!

And as always, I enjoy your writing … you always bring a laugh! 🙂 Loll xx

  6. Two fabulous creations Marie, my fav is the dress, nice and bright and very summery, the second card looks like you have used the die the wrong way round but my eyesight is getting worse,
As for the treatment by your ‘frends’ you have not said what they were doing so I am presuming it is not something you are proud of i.e. squeezing black heads’ ???
Oh and a word of warning, you should never go swimming on a full stomach, especially you who is so accident prone, that’s after the lamb at Easter.

  7. Fantastic creations, love the gown, and the fancy frame is gorgeous. Great post to read, looks like you had loads of fun and suggestions about what you were doing.

  9. Well, who is the creative genius? I love those cards, you certainly don’t need to be a digigirl you have it all. That frock is just fabulous.

    SO what were you doing?

  10. UB, that dress is stunning. Too clever by half my friend. Love how you have mixed the pearls and the buttons. Only you could get away with pink and orange. Fabulous makes. I can’t wait to receive my prize!!! he he! Sorry for late visit. Still suffering this morning/afternoon. Will be in touch soon.
    Hugs, PF xx

  11. This challenge was definitely made for you….. I love the dress shaped card, very retro design covered in daisies. The fancy frame is so pretty too… I take my hat off to anyone with a digi cutting machine, they’re all an enigma to me!!

  12. You really are clever with that Cameo Marie! The frock (we wear frocks in our house too, never dresses!) is a piece of genius with those offset layers and glorious colours and I love the pink-framed trees too. Hmm, the jury is still out on what you were doing in that photo but whatever it was that cheeky twinkle in your eye says you were up to mischief!

It's always a pleasure to read your coments
