Welcome back to another challenge at Less is More and for the next fortnight, we are asking you to share your spring inspirations with us.
Has spring sprung in your part of the world? Here in Greece the weather has been awful, rain, rain and more rain I mean April showers are one thing but it’s the middle of May and it’s just miserable!
The first thing that came to mind when I thought about spring, apart from the fact that we aren’t having one this year is the following card. Not one of my best but I just couldn’t shake it so please be kind.
I know I know it’s awful and puny but that’s my current mood. I used my trusty Cameo to cut the spring which is popped up on foam and hot foiled and die cut the Pinkfresh Studio sentiment.
Feeling guilty about my rubbish card I’ve made another a little more season appropriate.
This cute little duckie is from Vicky Papaioannou for Spellbinders which I simply die cut and added a touch of Distress Oxide in Broken China and a couple of sploshes of water for rain, oh, and of course a googly eye for good measure.
I’m sharing my little duckie with the lovely Darnell over at NBUS as it’s her first time out of the packet the duck, not Darnell haha
We do hope you will play along with us at LIM my teammates have made “real” cards so please don’t be put off by mine.
Wishing you all a fabulous weekend.
Marie
I completely disagree that your spring card is awful. I really like it. The black, gold and while look amazing together and the idea to use a spring is very clever. It would never have occurred to me. Thanks so much for all your visits to me today too. Sorry to hear about your poor weather in Greece, it has been pretty similar here too. At least we are getting plenty of rain, which is always welcome, as it is generally in short supply where I live on the East Anglian coast. Oh and your little duck is really cute. Love the googly eye xx
Thank you so much Hilary for your lovely comment. I was in the Uk for a few days last week and the weather was much warmer there !
Haha! Yes, I got out of my packet decades ago, lol! Your little yellow duckie is just adorable with her cute polka-dot umbrella! As for your “spring” card, I love it! The cornier the better as far as I’m concerned, so I think it’s brilliant! Thank you for inspiring everyone at NBUS and I hope Mr. Sun shows up and stays! Hugs, Darnell
Sun still missing !!! Thank you so much for popping by Darnell and for your encouraging comment.
hahaha totally loved the ‘slinky’ spring card idea, but of course you are right the duck is too cute not to adore either lol. Thanks for starting my day with a smile x
Yep, that’s what it reminded my sister of one of those slinky thingies. Glad I was able to make you smile. Thanks for popping by
You are too tough on yourself… your first card is such an unexpected creative take on the challenge theme and I love it! The duck card is adorable.
Thank you so much Trina
Well! What can I say, what inspirational thinking your Spring is. I absolutely love the twist you made. So clever. Your little duck is so cute and wonderful and completely adorable with his wonderful colouring and his eye. Love both card so much Marie.
Thank you so much Faith it’s always a pleasure to hear from you.
Marie you are always such a thinker outside the box! I love the springy spring card but have to admit I have fallen in love with cute little duckie. Your design touches are always superb: the metallic parts of the brolly, the blended ink background with the water drop pattern to echo the polka dots on the brolly, the googly eye to make the duckie look a bit unhinged! Always inspiring as well as fun to come and visit you here. Vicky x
Now you mention it my duckie does look somewhat unhinged a little like its creator. Thanks for stopping by and for your lovely comments.hope the hen party went according to plan
What an ingenious take on the challenge, I love it. I do like your little duck too but the slinky spring is fab.
Sorry for the delay in commenting, I’ve been mourning since you left…I adore the spring card, it reminds me of setting a slinky off down the stairs. I particularly like that you thought outside of the box!
The little duckie is so cute, I could just imagine him splashing along in wellies.
A wonderful couple of cards as per usual!
Apologies for the delay in commenting, I’ve been mourning the loss of your company’s since you left.
I absokutely love the top card, reminds me of setting a slinky off down the stairs. Three colours work really well and I love that you didn’t go down the traditional flowers route.
Your little duckie is so cute too, I can imagine him off on a little walk and then a splash in the village duckpond.
Keep up the amazing work xx
