Addicted to CAS #228 Birds

Hello to one and all. Today is a special day for me as I’m hosting my first-ever challenge at ATCAS and the theme I have chosen is birds. I just love the little cutties and over the past few months I have accumulated quite a few of them and even a couple of doves decided to lay their eggs in one of my jasmine trees.

It was fun watching them grow and yesterday they decided it was time to leave the nest. To be honest I felt very anxious as the weather was horrendous but they didn’t go far and momma bird is keeping an eye on them.

On to my card, as this is ATCAS I’ve kept it quite simple Mr. P even asked me if I had finished it !!! The nerve !!

Concord and 9th Eclectic Garden dies, such a beautiful set there are two gorgeous birdies right and left facing and I really did want to use both but for the sake of cas ness only one made the cut. A touch of distress oxide and a couple of gold blobs (I couldn’t help myself) plus the fantastic Mr.Holtz’s sentiment stickers and I was done. I’m finding it a tad difficult using only one hand and can’t wait for the plaster to come off It really is still quite painful and I have another couple of weeks before it is removed.

I was so fed up with my plain plaster cast and my annoying little sister Kal kept urging me to jazz it up so this is all I could manage with the help of Mr.P of course.

I do hope you will join us at ATCAS the DT have some amazing cards to inspire you and I know you all have a least one little birdie in your collection..

Take care

Marie

  1. OH! This is CAS perfection, LOVE the touch of colour and the beautiful humming bird. What a great and very artistic cast, beautiful images on it. You mentioned commenting on my blog, sorry I’ve not done much either, due to a bad fall, thankfully getting better.
Hope your arm is better soon, although it hasn’t stopped you creating beautiful work. 🙂

  2. Even with one arm your cards are incredible Marie! Love the texture and the hints of soft colour and touches of gold on this beauty – and that die cut bird is just gorgeous! What brilliant photos of the doves and their nest. It always feels like a privilege to host a nest in your garden doesn’t it 🙂 Your cast looks very elegant but I really do hope you get it removed soon – we need you here in Blogland!! Vicky x

    • Can’t wait to get the cast off it’s really cramping my style in more ways than one. As for the doves I’m now at my summer house and discovered another nest in our garden with two eggs in, as you say really does feel like such a privilege and yesterday we saw dolphins swimming in front of house absolutely fabulous

  3. Congrats on hosting the challenge and what a beautiful card you’ve made to inspire everyone. I know you had a lot of birdies to choose from, and you’ve picked the perfect combination of dies. I love your technical terms, the “blobs of gold” 🤣
You’re the Queen of cas…and as for your annoying little sister, I think you should be nicer to her, you might need IT help one day.
Keep up the good work and I’m looking forward to seeing your arm when it’s cast free
    ❤️

    • Thank you for your lovely comment as always you are far too kind even if you are correct. My annoying little sister always has her IT department open for me because she loves me so much. As for my cast, I will save it for you as a memento and bring it when I next visit

  4. Your card. Is CAStacular! Love just a pop of colour to highlight the beautiful bird. Fabulous design.
    Your cast looks amazing, too!

It's always a pleasure to read your coments
