Less is More Week 87 Love and Marriage

A big warm hello to each and every one of you crafty ladies and especially to the fabulous ” Limettes ” that name does sound like a soul band from the sixties now doesn’t it !

Now joining us live on stage, Mandi and Chrissie and the sensational Limettes lol ! well sounded funny to me anyway.

Am not really getting much time to play at the moment but I do love to join in the LIM challenges when I can and when I saw the challenge title this week I did a little jig, well at least in my head as the broken foot has put an end to my jigging for the time being !

This weeks challenge over at Less is More is lucky dip Love and Marriage and it just so happened that I was working on some wedding cards at the moment yippee !!!!!

A very simple card made  with the help of my best friend Cameo and a computer generated sentiment.

I felt a bit of a cheat on this one as it was so simple and came together really quickly ( for a change ) so I made another

Once again I used my cameo to cut out this gorgeous heart , I used a sizzix embossing folder to emboss this pretty pattern  underneath the negative space and then popped it up with foam .I  cut the same heart with red card and used the positive to place inside the negative thus giving dimension , a little resin flower and all done. I’m not really a big fan of sentiments and leave most of my cards blank so that they can be interpreted in any way the giver or receiver thinks fit.

I really loved the simplicity of this card and so made a couple of variations. The one I wanted to share was a beautiful ( well I thought so anyway ) gold embossed card with an amazing antique button in the centre but it proved camera-shy and after taking about thirty photographs I gave up. Think it must be the Greta Garbo of the card world and wants to stay a recluse !

Do pop over to LIM to see the fabulous as always inspirational cards from Mandi and Chrissie and of course the amazing entries so far.

I’m off to cook lunch,  a traditional British  Sunday roast and wouldn’t you know it we have 31 degrees today  here in Greece , not really the ideal menu now is it !

Ta ra

Marie

  1. Beautiful cards Marie. Love the simplicity of the first one and the intricacy and layers of the second one. Enjoy your roast!!
    Regards Florence x

  2. Ooooh, I think I might be the first to comment for a change, instead of one of the last, lol! These are so very beautiful Marie, I LOVE the wedding one and the intricate heart on the second is stunning. Everytime I see your creations, I wish I’d bought the Silhouette and not the Cricut, lol, as my other half advised me soooo many times!!!

I hope your foot/toe is on the mend (at least it won’t get wet if it’s not?) – I’m sure the medication has helped enormously (sorry, couldn’t resist). Sunday lunch sounds great.- will be there in 4 hours – please watch your fingers though Marie…..(I’m just on breakfast – a tub of Celebrations! Well, it is Sunday…)

    Take care my dear

    Maria xxxxx

  3. You have definitely done it again, these are beautiful, AND so clever to think as you do. Love also the littel bling.

Hope the foot is not too bad now and getting better.

Could do with a little of the temperature too, dismal day here. So I’m afraid it has to be a “crafty” day LOL.

  4. I love them, Marie. That first card is just stunning! What is this Cameo contraption that you talk about and where do I get one lol? It is soooo romantic and just beautiful xx

  5. Hola Marie, gorgeous cards, but i love your couple, very roamntic and beautiful, your heart is stunning too!, i think i need a cameo in my life :D.
    Hugs from Palma

  6. Gorgeous cards 🙂 both of them are fabulous !!
err ,, I hate to put a spanner in the works,,,, but I spotted a slight spelling mistake on the first one ,,,,,oopsie :-/

    luv
    Lols x x x
p.s, I have candy on my blog if you would like to join in 🙂

  7. Both cards are fabulous! I love the elegance of each…so fitting for a wedding. I had to chuckle when I read about the card you really wanted to submit that was just too camera shy. I have a pile of those cards too. I try every possible position, with a flash/ without a flash, inside, outside etc…and I just can’t get a descent photo. Using natural light where I live is next to impossible because it is rarely calm enough outside for this. The wind just sweeps my cards away. At any rate, I love your cards and appreciate you stopping by my blog.

  8. Don’t you just LOVE the Cameo!!! I love mine and use it all the time. I LOVE these cards so much that I had to stop and hop over to the Silhouette store and get the bride and groom image!!

  9. Oh, crikey, I wish I had a Cameo ~ that is a stunning couple on your L&M card for LIM!! Really fab job on both cards! Your dinner sounds delish! Hang in there with the footie, you’ll be jiggy with it before you know it!!

  10. Two beautiful Cameo creations, Marie. Your first card is very elegant, and I love the intricacy of your second one with your lovely embossing inside your heart.

I just started using my Cameo again. The poor thing has been neglected since I bought all those Spellbinder dies…which I said I wouldn’t buy if I got a Cameo. I love both though! xx

  11. You are the queen of the Cameo Marie! The dancing couple are fabulous and I adore the ornate heart. A nice roast is always a treat but I think it’s sod’s law that it’s always a blazing hot day when you’ve planned one! Vicky x

  12. Beautiful cards, Marie … the heart Dazzles my whole being – of course I’m in love with hearts in the first place, however this one is so very special. Stunning – both of them. Enjoy your roast – find some shade! xoDonna

  13. Have you considered that you could sell those designs so easily on Etsy?
They are so beautifully executed Marie and with timeless elegance.
    Have a great week.
    Wishes
    Lynne
You do know that your sister tells me of your other little “G” addiction?!!!!

  14. Το πόσο θαυμάζω τι κάρτες σου δεν λέγεται!!!!Και ειλικρινά δεν έχω δει πιο ωραία κάρτα για γάμο!!

  15. Beautiful cards Marie, I love the clean and simple wedding card and the gorgeous heart card both are superb, clever design what a shame about the spelling poor you, it’s just so easy to do;{
    Hugs Gay xx
