Crafty Cardmakers Challenge no 71 Make Your Own Flowers

I am sitting here in the craft cave and am being bullied by the dastardly duo  Bailey and Rosy my two mutts who have decided that they have had enough of seeing only my back  for the past few,  well make that several hours ! I have a day bed in here and they are usually sprawled out on that or at my feet waiting to intercept any matter of crafty material that is destined for the bin. The little ” loves ” have been so quiet up until now due to the extreme heat but a sudden torrential downpour has cooled the air and revitalised their souls and they telling me in no uncertain terms that it is time for play. So as  I am writing this post I have an eleven kilo French Bulldog and a two kilo Pincher sitting on my knee both jousting for poll position….. oops there goes Bailey the Pincher ( did he jump or was he pushed ) he has been knocked off and is now yapping his head off, those mini mutts sure can bark . Right I better make this quick as Rosy the porker is one fidgety madame ! Its time for our new challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers and the theme for the next fortnight has been chosen by the lovely Aj who is asking us to make our own flowers. She would love to see your project including flowers made from anything you like as long as the flower itself is not store-bought . For more details pop over to Crafty Cardmakers and of course to see what my fellow talented team members have made to inspire us all. I used a Hero Arts stamp  and embossed it with its matching embossing folder by Sizzix ,not sure you can see the embossing but if you look really closely and squint just a little you might catch a little glimpse of it on the tiny flowers . The flower was made with my Cameo and I used Pan Pastels in varying shades to colour it, have mentioned that I love them ? you get such great coverage and if you make a mistake you can just rub it out with an ordinary eraser. Sentiment is by SU. I know you all wanted to see a close up of the flower so you could admire my Pan Pastelling skills !

Our two generous sponsor are:-

Digi Doodle Shop are offering a ten-dollar gift voucher and One Stop Card  Crafts are offering a 10 pounds voucher also.

We had some fantastic entries for our last fortnight’s challenge and it was a pleasure to see so many lovely and talented blogging friends taking part . I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who passes by to leave a comment I know how busy you all are and do appreciate you taking the time to visit. There are a few of you and I’m not mentioning any names but the guilty parties will know who they are , are just down right cheeky and I love it so don’t hold back !!!

Right I’m off as the howling has started up again oh sorry, my mistake it’s just hubby watching the football,  but better clear off cos I’ve got two dead legs and a sore you know what from this big lump sitting on my knee.

Hope this post finds you all as it’s scheduled as hopefully when you read this I will be at my aqua aerobics class !

  3. Beautiful that flower is scorching. guess now you are back at home all trim from aqua whatsits and enjoying a long cool refreshing something in the evening sun, which resembles your flower! XOXO Zoe

  4. Aqua aerobics – never mind Rosy, you’re making me feel like a lazy porker! Your card is a tropical delight – those pan pastel colours are fab, I’ve been resisting them, maybe once I tidy up my craft room I can buy one or two as a reward! Haven’t seen that HA embossing folder either, it’s luverly! Thanks for your ‘lovely’ comments too! TTFN. Suze xx

  5. Love the shape of this flower!! Is it one you created for your Cameo? Or did you purchase is somewhere? Am also loving the pan pastels. I am sitting on my hands because I want them (in all the colours!!!) – but I have so much stuff unused that I can’t justify getting into anything else at the moment!! Cxxx

  6. Love reading about your two furry friends, cannot imagine how my one would cope with another dog in the household, she’d win I think..
Absolutely love your floral card, the gorgeous orange bloom is fabulous.

  7. Oh my word, woman! This is amazing!!!!! GORGEOUS colors–and LOVE the middle of it! My little pup does the same thing to me…today when I got out of the bathroom to go and craft some more, she was sitting right in front of my chair! Isn’t it nice to be loved?! 🙂

  8. Hiya, beautiful card, what a gorgeous bloom, the colour is fabby, I have some PP and I’m not that keen on them and think now it’s the colours as they are the light set, wish I’d bought a more vibrant set as this colour is beautiful. Poor Doggies in the heat, yep small ones can certainly bark. My cavalier has a very loud bark and he is only diddy. XX

  9. well that beautiful layered flower is amazing and so are your pan pastelling skills!!
I see what you mean about the embossed and stamped bkgd…… very cool :0)
I’m glad I’m not the only one who has a mutt that disapproves of me crafting and makes me feel guilty…… aren’t they real characters.

  10. Such a bright and beautiful card, Marie. I love the pearly centre of your gorgeous layered and juicy coloured flower. Those pan pastels look amazing…I must try and get hold of some. But all these different colouring mediums are costing me a small fortune.
Reading your lovely posts always cheer me up xx

  11. Love this card Marie the background looks great and the main flower is fabulous too. I really love the vibrant colours of the pan pastels you’ve used.

Pan pastels are great but I’m refusing to buy any at the moment. I wonder how long I’ll manage to resist them? I think my hubby will divorce me if I spend any more money on craft items!

  12. Oh dear, having the dogs sitting on your knee adds a whole new dimension to ‘crafting challenge’. I only have to put up with my daughter speaking French with the cat which, while distracting, is not physically demanding. I love the card (which presumably was made before the canine attack?) Those little daisies look wonderful against the text background and your focal flower is a stunner!
PS Are you sure your hubby was watching the football? Or could he have been serenading you with a song?

  13. Oh wow, what a stunning flower, it is fabulous, love the colour and the pearls in the centre and the background is stunning.

    Kath x
