Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 65 " Easter "

Over at Crafty Cardmakers it’s once again time for our fortnightly challenge our theme for the next two weeks has been set by the lovely and talented Doreen who has chosen  ” Easter “. Now I’m sure you are all in the throes of making your Easter cards and decorations so why not link  up your creations  to Crafty Cardmakers we would love to see them and  who knows you may be one of our lucky winners !

I just a napkin for the background , I applied a layer of Modge Podge to the napkin and ahered it to the card, another layer of Modge Podge on top to protect it. I cut the Easter image with my cameo and layered it over the napkin. Easy peasy you may think but it took seven attempts to cut the image as the wording is very delicate and kept ripping as I was lifting it from the cutting mat. This was my last piece of cream card stock too.  The craft cave was definitely a PG rated zone !!  I am going through a bit of Modge Podge phase at the moment . I have just finished altering a radiator in my sons bathroom  I completely covered it with groovy paisley napkins and it looks fabulous,  unfortunately I cant get a good enough photo ! I am now working on light fittings and switches stay tuned !!!
Undeterred by my frayed nerves I decided to make another card. The base is made from silk kindly donated by a friend who has a fabric shop , although I have to say the beautiful pieces are all silk and far to nice to cut up ! My likkle wabbit was cut with …… yes you’ve guessed it my Cameo, I added some lovely lace and velvet ribbon and the little flower I made using one of my molds.
Thought I would share with you this photo of the corner of my living room where I take my photos. Some of you may have noticed that in all of the cards on my blog there appears to be greenery growing out of the top of them. This is the only spot in the house that has some light even though my ceilings are four meters high and there is plenty of glass, I guess I just don’t live on the sunny side of the street !

Before I go just another little moan about Blogger. I said on my previous post that I have opened an account with WordPress and hope to transfer there in due course. One of the main reasons is that Mr Blogger insists I don’t have a blog !!!!!!! and wont let me make any changes. that and not burning my posts is driving me crazy. Since yesterday am unable to leave comments on most of your blogs I keep getting the error message service unavailable !!! I think I might have been cut off !!!!! so please bear with me and I do apologise for not leaving comments.
Right winging over lets see if Blogger lets this one through !!!

Take care

Marie

  2. oh these are soooo gorgeous. i love they are not traditional pastel easter colors. thank you for stopping by to let me know you have a new address (funny ’cause i was just thinking about ya): blogger won’t be giving you any more trouble. 🙂

  3. Hiya Marie! I must say, it’s very nice indeed over here! I love the new look blog, and hope it works much better for you. Gorgeous creations, that silk is stunning, and the napkin looks fabulous with the die cut.

On to Aintree – the first day is absolutely fine with me. I usually only go on one of the days, but it doesn’t matter to me which one it is. Thanks for your lovely comments on my little creation – I always fancied myself as a bit of a rock chic when I was younger, lol.

Take care and see you soon

    Maria x

  4. Hi Marie – loving the new-style blog and your blog banner is just gorgeous! What a fabulous pair of projects too. I especially like the first with that Modge Podged napkin forming a beautifully deep background to your cute, cute rabbit. You are Mrs Cameo Marie! (Hoping your husband doesn’t read this and become confused. Unless, of course, his surname is Cameo!) See you back here soon, Vicky x

  13. Hi Marie,
Your new blog banner is fabulous!
Such gorgeous creations, too. Your napkin card is lush! Love those colours. Your rabbit card looks lovely with the added lace.

I’m looking forward to seeing all your lovely Mod Podge work. I once covered a large hat box with vintage scraps and Mod Podge. It’s very durable stuff.

As for Blogger. I’ve had quite a lot of problems since they’ve been upgrading things. I kept getting the error message, too. And being told that the pages I was trying to read were broken. It was starting to wind me up. Anyhow, things seem to have calmed down today…so far…no silly messages. But I’m not holding my breath xx

  15. Hello Marie
So you have crossed over to the other side LOL. Your Blog looks fabulous. It has a contemporary vibe going on which works so well with your art.
Wonderful use of the napkin – so lovely.
It can be tricky finding that perfect spot for taking photographs – sunlight but not too much sun (as though that is a problem in my part of the world lol).
Wishes and good to see you here.
    Lynne

  16. Arr Marie the Easter frame is just divine and well worth all the card it took to make it (been there too!)…you may have ‘just’ used a napkin but wow what a fab napkin and a great addition to the crafting stash they are!!
Love all the lace on the second card too…you use such unique materials on your cards!
    Jenny :0)
