Hello lovely ladies

A big thank you to everyone for your birthday wishes , blogging buddies are the best,  also a big thank you to all of those who took part in our last challenge celebrate at ATCAS so many fabulous entries.

This fortnight our amazingly talented Deepti has chosen our code word and will be your hostess , so lets see what she has chosen for us.,

ATCAS - code word gold

What a fabulous code word !

A fabulous code word indeed but it took me longer to photograph it than make it !!! Gold Miri card is a bugger !!!!!! It took days to get this rubbish result  I actually gave up on it and made another card but that one looked better in real life and crap as a photo so a loose , loose situation all around !

I stamped onto vellum (can’t tell can you !) and then gold embossed it and coloured the flower with my Copics  placing  a glass dome over the flower. The circle is cut using Spellbinders circle die and then mounted onto foam.

Ok so now I’m gonna share the card that didn’t make it ! Keep in mind that its much better IRL

Spellbinders card creator rectangles for the frames and a lovely inkylicious stamp that I’ve never used gold embossed. A glass dome and a button and gold pen used to edge the card. If you look very carefully you can see my reflection in the glass dome the height ( not ) of sartorial elegance in me nightie lol ! My Cameo is sulking cos it never got a look in again this time poor thing.

We are once again sponsored by Stamp Art Design who are offering five free digs for the winner

We have a brand new guest designer for the month of August , please put your hands together for the lovely and talented Lyndal ( Ideas and Paper ) and boy does she have lots of both !

We would love for you to join us at ATCAS it’s always a pleasure to see your stunning cards and if you’re in need of a little inspiration then pop over and see what the rest of the amazing DT have come up with they have out done themselves once again.

I might be a bit slow on commenting next week as I have to undergo therapy on my leg apparently it needs straightening ( don’t like the sound of that ) so will be missing best part of the week.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend

Take care

Marie

  1. I think this card is very eye catching. Took me from the blog to your blog to find out how you did it. I have that stamp and really love the gold look. Love the use of the glass dome I think you called it. I have never seen before. Beautiful card as is the second one with your image forever saved on it.

  2. Two stunning cards Don’t be hard on yourself about the photos, miri is a pain we all knoe that.
Hope all goes well for the treatment.

  3. Two lovely cards Marie – not sure why the second “didn’t make it” as it’s definitely my favourite!!! 😄 Think everyone has problems with photographing mirri card – either you get in the reflection, it just glares out in the photo or if you turn it a bit too far it just looks dull – so don’t be hard on yourself.

    Hugs.

  4. Two words, pretty and glam! First one is pretty and you guessed the second one is very glam! Another two words, “oh dear”, leg straightening does not sound very pleasant, hope all goes well. Take good care, hope you are back to your old bag self soon! Xx

  5. Well, I LOVE BOTH cards, so different. I did notice a strange creature in the bottom one though, better look out for it!

Best of luck with the straightening, wonder if they do it like straightening hair?

  6. Love the way the circle changes colour, fabulous card, lovely image, prefer this to the one you disgarded.
Hope things go ok for you.
    Love Kath x

  7. Hi Marie. Two gorgeous cards … I could tell right away that your first card was gold embossed on Vellum! 🙂 Beautiful design with the script and pretty flower … and the gold circle frame. LOVE the dome you’ve put over the flower – really gives lots of dimension! Second card … so pretty with the gold embossed circle design. Very original and creative. And yes, I spotted you right away 🙂 Loll xx

  8. Oh, to be in your head for just an hour would be such a treat for a card artist, Marrie! Your design visions are always incredible! Even though the photos don’t really capture the beauty of both cards, it is easy to image all the golden shimmer IRL! The glass domes and your reflection in your nightie are just icing on the cake!!

Best of luck with the therapy, sweet girl. It sounds as if you need a torture rack and that doesn’t sound good at all. I wish I were rich enough to keep you in cases of gin for the duration!! Huge hugs and kisses, Darnell

  9. Two fabulous cards Marie – love the glass-domed flower on the first, and the amazing embossed stamp on the one you discarded. You are so right – shiny things are a bugger to photograph – it took me AGES to get a half-decent one!
Hope all goes well with the leg treatment – Hugs, Sylvia xx

  10. OMG you hussy. ATCAS is a G rated challenge blog and there you are half naked! Actually I have a BETTER photo of you (and a video, actually) if you would like me to share it??
Oh your cards? LURRRRRVE them of course. You are so creative and inspirational, my friend.
I hope the leg straightening goes ok….. hmmmm….. I don’t like the sound of that. They may put you in some torture looking device with big elastic bands or something. You would probably enjoy that! Ha ha. Toodle ooooo

  11. Oh my these are beautiful, the glass creates a very unique effect, ur cards are so pretty always 🙂 I will have to try this glass this out, I am inspired 🙂

  12. I know what you mean about getting bad photographs of cards…it happens to me all the time! However, I think yours looks just fine! Those glass baubles are fabulous! What a simple addition to really enhance a CAS card! Loving your reflection in the second one. Too funny!

  13. Never mind the photo’s, Marie, these are two stunning cards! Such a pretty bloom, made all the prettier with the glass dome … and black with gold … elegance and sophistication! Hope the horrid leg straightening is going better than it sounds! Anita 🙂
