Colorful Options August Challenge Yellow-Green

Welcome back to a new challenge at Colorful Options but firstly thank you so much for so many wonderful entries for our Flags challenge for July you really do make it difficult to choose our winners.

This month, we challenge you to use the color yellow-green.  This palette incorporates yellow, green, and yellow-green. If this palette is not to your liking, join us with a rainbow-inspired craft instead.

I knew immediately what I wanted to make for this challenge and even though this isn’t a color combination I would usually go for I really like the result.

I used one of my favourite flower dies from Honeybee stamps lovely layers roses which I coloured with Distress Oxides in twisted citron and squeezed lemon. The mason jar is courtesy of Sizzix and is filled with a few sequins from my stash. Unfortunately due to the glare from the plastic I had to sacrifice the clarity of the Tim Holtz sticker sentiment.

Here’s a second card I threw together just for fun made using my Cameo the banana is cut and popped up with foam for dimension and coloured with Distress Oxides and a splash of water. Not one of my best but I made it so I’m posting it hahaha. Once again the sentiment isn’t very clear and I can’t even complain about the glare from the plastic this time just bad photography on my part.

We do hope you will join us at Colorful Options the DT has some amazing cards to delight and inspire and we look forward to seeing your amazing projects in our gallery. Don’t forget you can enter with any crafty medium from crochet to woodwork and anything in between.

Colorful Options July Challenge Choose your Favourite Flag.

Welcome back to another fun challenge at Colorful Options where our theme for this month is to use your favourite flag as inspiration to create a card or a project of your choice.

This was an easy challenge for me and my cards came together quickly. Instead of using the Greek flag (I’ve lived in Greece longer than I lived in the UK) I was inspired by a country that has been on my bucket list for years and there’s a possibility I might be able to realise my dream this Septemeber.

Can you guess which country it is by looking at my cards?

For my first card, I used my brand new Silhouette Cameo 5 to cut out the sweet couple and used Poppy Stamps Nordic Flourish Background behind them.I also used the same background for my second card together with another Poppy Stamps Nordic die in butterfly form, all popped up with a touch of foam for dimension. A few enamel dots strategically placed and other you have it! Did you guess which country’s flag inspired me? Japan !!! I’ve always wanted to visit and maybe this year will be the year !!! fingers crossed.

I’m also playing along with NBUS challenge # 64 as my Poppy Stamps Butterfly and floral background are having their first outing.

We do hope you will join us at Colorful Options we would love to see which flag inspires you, but fear not you can play along using rainbow colours if you aren’t inspired by a particular flag and you aren’t limited to cards any crafty project is welcome.

In other news Greece is sweltering with the highest temperatures ever recorded for this time of year it’s so unbearably hot especially when I return home up a steep hill with my high heels on, thank goodness for air conditioning.

Christmas in July #166 Sparkles Monthly Challenges

Hello all and welcome to a new challenge at Sparkles Monthly Challenges and what a challenge it is too! As I’m writing this post the temperature here in Greece is 43 C !!! and our challenge for this month is Christmas in July and boy oh boy do I wish it was cold outside.

I made this super simple card using my Cameo to cut out the reindeer which I inked up around the edges with a little Distress Ink and added a red pearl for it’s little nose. The circles were cut using Spellbinders dies and embossed using a lovely winter embossing folder also by Spellbinders. Sentiments courtesy of `Mr Holtz and there you have it.

We do hope you will play along with us at Sparkles Monthly Challenges my teammates have some incredible Christmas cards to inspire and maybe even kick-start your Christmas creativity.

This weekend I will be avoiding the coast as I’m sure all of Thessaloniki will be at the beaches due to this very hot spell. I will be staying behind to enjoy the empty city with like-minded friends drinking plenty of cold beverages wink wink. Whatever you are up to make it fabulous!

I’m linking up to Daring Cardmakers who are also celebrating Christmas in July and Craft Rocket Challenges.

Less is More #483 Spring

Welcome back to another challenge at Less is More and for the next fortnight, we are asking you to share your spring inspirations with us.

Has spring sprung in your part of the world? Here in Greece the weather has been awful, rain, rain and more rain I mean April showers are one thing but it’s the middle of May and it’s just miserable!

The first thing that came to mind when I thought about spring, apart from the fact that we aren’t having one this year is the following card. Not one of my best but I just couldn’t shake it so please be kind.

I know I know it’s awful and puny but that’s my current mood. I used my trusty Cameo to cut the spring which is popped up on foam and hot foiled and die cut the Pinkfresh Studio sentiment.

Feeling guilty about my rubbish card I’ve made another a little more season appropriate.

This cute little duckie is from Vicky Papaioannou for Spellbinders which I simply die cut and added a touch of Distress Oxide in Broken China and a couple of sploshes of water for rain, oh, and of course a googly eye for good measure.

I’m sharing my little duckie with the lovely Darnell over at NBUS as it’s her first time out of the packet the duck, not Darnell haha

We do hope you will play along with us at LIM my teammates have made “real” cards so please don’t be put off by mine.

Wishing you all a fabulous weekend.

Addicted to CAS # 207 “Autumn”

Happy to be back blogging after an extremely hot summer with temperatures nearly 40 c every day so the challenge over at Addicted to CAS seemed a perfect way to cool down and welcome the onset of autumn.

My cameo cut the image from Kraft card and I used distress oxide to do a tad of water colouring.

Also playing along with CASology who’s cue word is one

Happy little stampers

Wishing you all a fabulous weekend and am looking forward to seeing your amazing cards. Do pop over and check out the DT’s and the card galleries on the aforementioned blogs so much creativity !!!

CASology . Gingerbread

Well it’s been an absolute age since I posted anything so much so that I’ve forgotten how to write a blog post ! So for that reason alone I’ll keep it short and sweet. One of my favourite challenge blogs CASology has brought me out of retirement to take part in their latest challenge.

My card is super simple , a sentiment and image from Silhouette library printed onto acetate and popped up with foam to give dimension . Sorry about the poor photo but as you all know its so hard not to get a glare when using anything shiny . I made a frame with my silhouette and added the image.

Please pop over to CASology as the DT once again has worked its magic and I see they are also looking for new DT members so definitely well worth visiting.

Less is More ” Masculine “

Hello lovely ladies.

Its been four months since my last blog post and it was to take part in another Less is More challenge. This time round they have another fantastic theme and that is ” Masculine “

A few months ago I was asked to make a card for the lord mayor of our city  I used this image but with different wording and he loved it so I thought it was time to give it another outing and to dedicate it to the three most import men in my life

IMG_2548 my husband Teo and our two sons Alexis and Aris all three of them are ” out of this world “

My lovely silhouette Cameo is responsible for this card both the sentiment and cut files are curtesy of the Silhouette Store , I used my Spellbinders Card Creator dies for the bases.

Do pop over to Less is More to see the amazing inspirational cards by the design team and as always there are some fabulous entries.

Take care
