Addicted to CAS Challenge #50 Vellum

Hello lovely ladies and welcome to a brand new challenge over at ATCAS, we have a fantastic code word for you this time round and I should know cos I chose it !!!!!

Yes I’m your hostess for the next fortnight but sorry no drinks trolley this time round due to my immobility but I have created a little bar in the corner , so if you would like to file past in an orderly fashion and help yourselves I would be very grateful. Trying to push a drinks trolley whilst on crutches is a recipe for disaster.

I love vellum and use it in many of my cards especially for envelopes,however this time round I made the envelope and forgot to photograph it and now its too dark .

Now here’s a first for me I actually like a card I made, yep no whingeing or complaining from me I love it and it looks so much better in real life, but where is the vellum you may ask well……

I used my Cameo to cut this gorgeous image it took several goes as this really is a very detailed image it required several passes and a new blade but I got there in the end. I tore up some vellum and laid it at angles behind the image and added two weeny bits of green vellum behind the leaves. I created a frame with the cameo, some foam and a computer generated sentiment and there you have it. Unfortunately the Vellum is not showing up so well in the photo but believe you me it’s there and it looks fabulous !!!! Did I just say fabulous, wow I may need to go and lie down.

Our guest designer the fabulous Hannelie is still with us and she along with the rest of the amazing DT have come up with some outstanding cards , so why not pop on over to ATCAS and feast your eyes and maybe join in.

Addicted to CAS Challenge #49 Stencil

Hello lovely ladies and welcome to a brand new challenge at ATCAS. The boss woman Smiley Kylie is your hostess for the next two weeks and what has our fabulous and fun leader chosen to inspire us all……..

Leave it to our Kylie to choose something bang on trend !

I was quite excited when I saw this code word mainly because having my darling Cameo enables me to make stencils from just about any design or material. That was the easy part but actually choosing one was more difficult and I ended up being really boring and choosing a heart. That’s not to say I didn’t go through a tonne of stencils, embossing paste and Dylusions . It seems like the old mojo is still on vacation, never mind though I had fun trying and that’s what really counts isn’t it !

Sorry about the bad photo its been a glorious week here in Greece until I wanted to take my photo of course.

I spray painted a piece of card stock in gold and made a stencil with my Cameo, I used shiny embossing paste and when dry added a touch of gold leaf hither and thither , what a BIG MISTAKE ! that stuff gets everywhere ! I’m enjoying gold leafing at the moment as it’s really quick and very effective, apart from the cleaning up that is ! A few sequins added willy nilly and topped off with a frame made by madame Cameo.

Addicted to CAS #48 Cuddly

Hello lovely ladies

Time for a brand new challenge at ATCAS and for the next fortnight our lovely and talented Michele is your hostess . Michele has chosen a super code word for us this time round and the DT have once again outdone themselves and created some amazing cards.

Lots of things came to mind for this code word firstly my lovely husband but he wasn’t prepared to be photographed . I did try to get a snap shot of him but you would of thought I was the paparazzi trying to get a pic of a politician coming out of a starlets home at 5.00am in the morning ! Definitely ” no press ” from Mr P. The doglets next but I couldn’t get a group shot of the three little buggers as they kept fidgeting ! So my next thought was this …….

An old comfy sofa that we had many years ago it was guaranteed that if you sat on it for more than 10 minutes you would fall asleep and it was our families favourite spot for cuddles. The four of us would pile on when the boys were little and read stories or watch TV, 10 minutes later we would all be snoozing blissfully away. The sofa is long gone but its memories are as clear as day.

My fab non cuddly Cameo helped me out here, I paper pieced the sofa and popped it up with foam the sentiment lamp and border are all created with the Cameo.

Not only that but Mr P became a little teary eyed reading your messages and was very impressed with your card making skills. Im making the rounds slowly with my thank you’s so please bear with me. I will be having another MRI this week my specialist wants to operate to relieve pressure in my bone marrow, so fingers crossed that I get good results and don’t have to have surgery.

Addicted To CAS Challenge #46 Luxury

Hello lovely ladies

Welcome to a new challenge at ATCAS which for the next week, yes that’s right for one week only is being hosted by the super talented Sandie from London Days.

So come and see what the lovely Sandie chose for her code word.

Well I have to admit I struggled a little with this one, luxury has so many different connotations , I started thinking about the obvious things, fast cars, boats, travel, shoes, gin, shoes, gin handbags, did I mention gin ?. None of the above really inspired me and I was left with several unfinished cards . I had one thought that kept going around and around in my little noggin and in the end gave in……

This is my luxury……

Lady Cameo once again helped out , I paper pieced this super simple drawing ( took forever ) as my bin can testify and made a simple frame using my Spellbinders Card creator dies.

I liked the simplicity of it so much I made a framed version and hung it over our bed.

Addicted to CAS Challenge #43 Celebrate

Hello lovely ladies !

We have a fabulous new challenge over at ATCAS and it couldn’t be more fitting for me. The lovely and talented Jaydee has chosen the code word for the next fortnight so come and see what she’s chosen.

Hopefully that’s what I will be doing for the next week albeit on one leg ! I will be celebrating my birthday in a few days time, not only that my closest friends all have their birthdays within a day of each other starting on Sunday continuing on until Thursday. I’m off today to my beach house to host a little party Mr P will be doing the cooking this year ( haven’t told him yet ) due to my inability to stay upright for too long , and no it’s not due to an excess of gin !

I used a tiny little brayer with this cute heart motif to randomly stamp my base card , cut the hearts and sentiment with my Cameo and popped it up on foam. Behind celebrate I added some red card stock not completely covering the negative space. I thought it looked really cool in real life but looking at it on the screen it looks like my card stock has slipped.

Don’t you just love the expression on her face ! I’m feeling a bit of a porker myself at the moment due to my inactivity. I cobbled together various elements using my Cameo, popped my little hippo up on foam and used glossy accents on my balloon ( and the surrounding area it seems ) a Spellbinders frame completes the madness.

ATCAS Challenge #42 Sky

Hello lovely ladies

Time once again for a new challenge at ATCAS and our host for the next fortnight is the gorgeous and talented Shana. Now what did that lovely lady choose for us this time round……..

Great code word don’t you agree and I was so inspired I actually did some stamping !!!!!, that’s not to say when I use my Cameo I’m not inspired lol , but its been ages since I did any I nearly forgot how to do it. I made two cards and couldn’t decide which one I liked best so you lucky people (not) get to see both attempts.

This is a Memory Box stamp called words to birds collage, it’s a bit on the weeny side so if your like me and you suffer from bloggers blindness you could possibly mistake those birds for ants !

I used a variety of Adirondack inks which I applied with memory foam and just squidged them all over the place until I was happy with my squidging . When I was all squiggled out I stamped my image on top. What are you laughing at !!! Have you never seen a green tinted sky before !!!!! well come to Thessaloniki it’s practically a nightly occurrence. The cameo did help to make the feather and I did a touch of embossing and used my Spellbinders card maker rectangles to make the frame

Similar squigding as on the first card just addition of some sequins and a Cameo made feather and an extra frame, I think I like the first one best.

Now before I go I must have my little whinge otherwise it wouldn’t be a ” proper ” blog post from me but one of the reasons I have been mojo-less and a bad blogger is that I have damaged my foot in two places ( so much for my power walks ! ) I’ve been told by the bone doctor this can take up to a year to heal and he’s put me on bed rest for two months , pretty painful and I can’t sit or lie in one place for too long. The only up side of it is it’s the world cup and Wimbledon so I get to see all of the matches, don’t know what I’ll do when they finish might have to start watching day time TV !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELP !!!!!!!

Addicted to CAS #37 Grunge

Yes that’s right time once again for a new challenge over at ATCAS and what a challenge we have for you !

Our fearless leader Smiley Kylie has a very challenging and interesting code word for us all.

So many different ways to go with this one and the DT have made some astonishing cards, I was really blown away by their creativity and when I saw what everyone else made I nearly threw mine in the bin but hey ho you can only do what you can do !

Our leader Kylie is currently swanning round europe enjoying the trip of a lifetime. Last week she was in London staying with Sandie one of our team members from ATCAS and meeting up with some of the other lovely ladies. She is currently in Spain with my mate Florence from Florence and Freddie. I’ll be joining them in a few days for a week can’t wait! do hope they have left some gin for me !!!!!!!!

I got really inky and messy with this one, lots of Dylusions sprayed randomly onto smooth card . I used my Cameo to make a stencil and cut the image and sentiment and lots of lovely embossing paste and there you have it. The sentiments a bit random and this card is unlikely to find a home, I mean who would you give that to right !

Fusion #3

I’ve been following the fabulous ladies at Fusion for quite some time and to be honest have always been a little intimidated by their amazing talent. The time has come however to take a deep breath and dip my little pinkie into the water and have a little splash around with the other lovely ladies.

Love the sketch and the photo inspiration and have two cards to share, now maybe I should have made two separate posts but these little cards just didn’t want to be separated .

This first card is for the photo inspiration

My lovely cameo created the image and the frame and I added lashings of Glossy Accents although you wouldn’t know it by the photo !

You can can understand why these two guys wanted to stick together they just wouldn’t look the same on their own ! I hope Mr Mustache is ok for the sketch as his whiskers don’t quite reach the corner of the card , please feel free to disqualify him if he doesn’t fit the bill.

ATCAS # 31 Love

Hello gorgeous girls !

Time for a new challenge at ATCAS and for the next fortnight we have a fantabulous theme for you all .The lovely and talented Jaydee our newest ATCAS team member is our hostess so come and see what she has chosen as her code word

Well I think you’ll agree this is the perfect code word for this time of year, come and see what I made and I have to warn you that there is actually some stamping involved !!!!!!!

I created the frame with the Spellbinders card creator and cut a couple of hearts with Ms Cameo. Coloured the hearts with Pan Pastels and stamped them with an IndigoBlu crackle stamp. Sentiment courtesy of SU, can you believe it I actually got down and dirty , well actually pink/blue and pastelly !!!

Not satisfied with only one card and loving the chalky mess made with my PP’s I made something very similar using a SU swirly whirly stamp ( yes more stamping and Pan Pastelling ) I needed a little lie down and a gin after that !

I see that CAS-ual Fridays has a great theme that I think these cards fit into perfectly so will be linking up there too.
