The Flower Challenge #106 Use Our Sketch

Welcome back to The Flower Challenge. This month, we are asking you to use our sketch.

To be honest, trying to follow a sketch is my crafting nightmare, but thank goodness this one wasn’t too complicated, although it did give me some trouble; I finally managed to get there in the end!

Altenew came to my rescue with this super striped floral die and sentiment. I used several layers of black cardstock for both, although you wouldn’t know it from the photo; then I matted it onto white and black paper, easy peasy.

We do hope you will play along with us this month at The Flower Challenge. The rest of the design team has once again outdone themselves. We will be back on the 15th of the month with more inspiration.

In other news, I’ve been neglecting my blog of late. I’m still making cards, but have been inundated with orders and don’t have time to do both, so commenting on your wonderful creations has fallen by the wayside. It’s also incredibly hot, so any free time I get, I’m spending in the sea or swimming pool.

Hopefully normal service will be resumed soon…

I’m linking up to Sparkles Forum Challenge who are asking us to make something clean and simple

Wishing you all a fabulous weekend.

Take care

Marie

  1. One would never know you struggle with a Sketch, Marie! You just can’t go wrong with a classic black and white design and that Altenew bloom is fantastic!

I have so many years of experience using sketches as my ‘muse’ it was a welcome challenge for me this month!

  2. CAS and absolutely perfect Marie…would never have known you struggle with sketches! And I love the whole black & white concept…it always makes the most elegant and dramatic cards! Love it!!

  3. Oh wow this is very elegant looking with the black and white color scheme! I love that texture from your cardstock in the background too! I think this is just perfectly done for the sketch! I sometimes struggle with figuring out a sketch as well, but you’ve done it brilliantly here! Thanks for the inspiration!

  4. I love your minimal/CAS take on the sketch, Marie! It’s a perfect way to go when time is limited and monochromatic always helps me when I’m stuck on a design. Beautifully done!
