Pink

Hello lovely crafters am here with a quick post as I’m off for the weekend, the sea is beckoning and I’m looking forward to a swim in The Med.

I was excited to learn my card from my previous blog post was chosen as one of three favourites over at Happy Little Stampers and I’m here again to take part in their new challenge Anything`Goes with Dies.

This beautiful paintbrush die is courtesy of Vicky Papaioannou for Spellbinders, so many interesting dies in the set, and so many possibilities. The bristles I cut several times and layered colouring with Distress Oxides. The leaves were sprayed with Dina Wakely’s media gloss which was also used for the ink splatters. The butterfly is from Pinkfresh Studios hot foiled, stenciled with Distress Oxides, and layered with vellum. The sentiment is from Tim Holtz’s Ideology stickers and not forgetting the little gold blobs as they have been nicknamed also from Pinkfresh Studio I really enjoyed making this card it took a while as there are lots of processes but I’m very happy with the end result.

I’m also entering into NBUS as this is the first time out for the paintbrush die and The Sisterhood of Crafters who are asking us to Think Pink, this is my first time playing along with them and I think I have a fair bit of pink on here.

Do pop over and check out the galleries lots of lovely inspiration and the DT’s have outdone themselves.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

Take care

Marie

  1. Absolutely stunning! I already loved this die set, but this could have been produced by the designer herself. the colours are just perfect and I am off to look at ordering some of the media gloss spray now that you have given the details on here. I can’t tell you how much you inspire me and how proud I am of your talents. Congrats on your top 3 with your red and black card, even if it did beat mine!!

  2. This paintbrush card design is one of the very best I’ve seen, Marie! From the background splatters, to the brilliant layers and colors, to the elegant butterfly, it is magnificent and I love all the gold touches! Thank you for inspiring everyone at NBUS! Hugs, Darnell

  3. Ohhhh that paintbrush looks amazing and I love all the pink splats, the beautiful butterfly and those gold ‘blobs’ x. One stand out card for me and this sure is a beautiful moment for me Marie x. A stunner x…..Enjoy your swim x

  4. I am blown away by this beauty Marie! So many gorgeous details – the layered bristles and the colouring of them is amazing, the way you cut the brush from ‘wood’ and gave it a realistic metallic trim, the perfectly placed splatters, those fabulous layered butterflies and of course the all important gold blobs!! If I were a betting girl (which I’m not, despite the fact that there’s a bookies that I like to call ‘Wager with Frederick’ down the road) I would lay everything on this one to be a winner! Congrats on your HLS win and have a great weekend pretending to be a mermaid! Vicky x

  5. I’m Gobsmacked! This is absolutely gorgeous Marie. That die is on my list of something to play with, your colours are out an of this world mix, the details are just awesome. WOW!

  6. OMGoodness Marie this is a jaw dropper. The paintbrush bristles have so much texture and bright colours, then adding the gold and wood handle. Beautiful butterfly and I am a lover of splatters so that adds more to this spectacular make. What a Winner you have here.

It's always a pleasure to read your coments
