Polka Dots and Spring Flowers

Hello to one and all

I’m doing a happy limp today, should have been a happy dance but I ran 12 km last night and the old calf muscles won’t allow me to boogie.

The reason for the happy limp is that I won at City Crafters for their Fantastic Plastic challenge , winning feels really good especially as I’ve not been back blogging that long, what can I say those ladies obviously have great taste !

Another reason for the jigging about is that a fantastic new challenge has started run by Silhouette UK and for those of you who know me know  how much I love my Cameo you can understand my joy. The new DT has just been announced and  what a talented gaggle of gorgeous girls they are ( try saying that after a few Gin and tonics )

To cut a long story short the card I’ve made ( yes there is a card to follow ) fits very nicely thank you very much into both challenges, mainly because I made it fit !

Silhouette are asking us to use the above image which just so happens to be a free one and can be found over at the Silhouette store.

City Crafters want us to use Polka Dots

Finally my card

I used the image to cut the top layer of black card, then went back into the design released the compound path and filled in the empty space with patterned paper from my Cameo fill box, printed that out and cut just around the edge of the flower to give me a base, I used double sided foam to pop it up and inserted the printed flower back into the negative space. Clear as mud so far……….

The Black outline of the flower was placed over the top and I added a button to hold the whole thing together, the sentiment is also from the Silhouette store. I do hope you will pop over to Silhouette UK and to City Crafters both DT’s have amazing and inspirational projects for your delectation.

Right that’s all from me I can hear my bread burning in the oven.

Take care

Marie

  2. Now I understand LOL. It IS STUNNING.

As for the 12k run, I have a problem just walking half a mile and then aching, seems I need to do more exercise as well as admire your work LOL.

  3. Well done on your win Marie, I’m sure you’ll make good use of your goodies! I absolutely adore your card and I know it made you happy purely because you made sole use of your Cameo. Was blown away by your account of your running 12 km last night, your leg must be so much better – I’m absolutely delighted for you.

  7. Well, excuse me, but why aren’t YOU on the DT for the new challenge, Marie?! If you ask me, you are an absolute expert with your Silhouette! Not having one, I don’t understand a lot of what you do, but I do recognize compelling and enchanting card art when I see it and that’s you every.single.time!! This is amazing and how magnificent is that button?! I think this is another winner!! (It’s so great to hear you talking about running 12km! I just grin thinking of that!!) Hugs, Darnell

  8. Congratulations on the win over at City Crafters…I was very fortunate to get a Spotlight Artist in the same challenge week…following in your coat tails x Wow… what a stunner this card is. Absolutely love the colours you’ve used. You are so very creative, I love your creations and I very much appreciate the very kind and generous comments you left me on my blog. Another stand out card x

  9. Wow … running 12 km — awesome!! No wonder you’re a bit sore. Good on you!

A beauty of a card using your cameo, Marie. You have really mastered this technology, and long with your amazing design sense, you are dazzling us all! xx

  10. Fantastic card! Beautifully executed. Love the colours too.
Wining is a fantastic feeling, isn’t it? Congrats on your win.
Ha ha! Wish I had a cameo….I have a very, very, very old craft robo. Actually tried it out today but it’s not a very well bunny. And can’t seem to get accessories for it any more. Maybe it’s time to invest in the cameo, especially after seeing your card!
