Addicted to CAS Challenge #50 Vellum

Hello lovely ladies and welcome to a brand new challenge over at ATCAS, we have a fantastic code word for you this time round and I should know cos I chose it !!!!!

Yes I’m your hostess for the next fortnight but sorry no drinks trolley this time round due to my immobility but I have created a little bar in the corner , so if you would like to file past in an orderly fashion and help yourselves I would be very grateful. Trying to push a drinks trolley whilst on crutches is a recipe for disaster.

ATCAS - code word vellum

I love vellum and use it in many of my cards especially for envelopes, however this time round I made the envelope and forgot to photograph it and now its too dark .

Now here’s a first for me I actually like a card I made, yep no whingeing or complaining from me I love it and it looks so much better in real life, but where is the vellum you may ask well……

I used my Cameo to cut this gorgeous image it took several goes as this really is a very detailed image it required several passes and a new blade but I got there in the end. I tore up some vellum and laid it at angles behind the image and added two weeny bits of green vellum behind the leaves. I created a frame with the cameo, some foam and a computer generated sentiment and there you have it. Unfortunately the Vellum is not showing up so well in the photo but believe you me it’s there and it looks fabulous !!!! Did I just say fabulous,  wow I may need to go and lie down.

Our guest designer the fabulous Hannelie is still with us and she along with the rest of the amazing DT have come up with some outstanding cards , so why not pop on over to ATCAS and feast your eyes and maybe join in.

We are once again sponsored by Scribbles Designs who are offering three digs to the winner

  1. Hello, it’s me, one of the lovely ladies! I have to agree, your card is bootiful and I love the little pop of lime. Hope you’re not whacking too many with those crutches! Take care. Xx

  2. This is fabulous Marie. What a creative way to use vellum and the touch of green is so inspired. Get my order of G&T ready-2 cubes of ice and a slice of lemon…hurry up!!

  3. Stunning card Marie no wonder you are over the moon with it! Love that cameo die cut so delicate and the touch of green is inspired. G&T for me please on the rocks with some thinly sliced cucumber:-)

  4. I can see the vellum! Great idea to layer it behind your image. It looks great! That’s such a beautiful and intricate image too. The little bit of green behind the leaves is a really nice pop of color.

  5. Absolutely fabulous creation Marie. The vellum looks gorgeous with it’s torn edges behind and on the leaves. Your gorgeous cut creation sits perfectly in the frame. Crutches or not you’d have that hostess trolley drunk dry before any of your passengers got a sniff!!,

Hope you are improving and would love to come and visit for the free bar, especially fond of dry white wine and Ouzo and lemonade.

  9. This crutches thing has got you going into overdrive with your designs, I LOVE this too, how you get your ideas is something else, OR is it the G&T? While your at it, no excuse with the crutches whisky and lemonade for me please! Get a move on girl!

  10. LOVE your design Marie. Beautiful blooms cut from the Cameo … they do look very delicate and I’m sure it took some time to get them so perfectly cut. Love the neutral colours of your card with the little bits of bright green — so pretty. Love the ripped and layered vellum for your backdrop … adds lots of texture. Loll xx

  11. Oh my I am so loving this card! I can see the vellum and it looks amazing! Love the touch of green vellum under the leaves, and speaking of leaves, I am loving that whole image you cut on your Cameo, so pretty. You sentiment is just perfect too. You so rocked this challenge! Hugs, Brenda
