Its time once again for a new challenge at Crafty Cardmakers and our host this time round is the lovely and talented Betty who is asking us to use die cuts or punches or a combination of both and here is what she has to say :-
You can have a combination such as 1 punch and 1 diecut as that equals two, or two punches, two diecuts. You can use more if you wish as long as there is at least two in combination or two of either on your creation.
We are sponsored by Hobby Art who are offering a fantastic prize please see Crafty Cardmakers for details
We are also sponsored by Milk Coffee Digital Stamps
with a prize of 5 Digital Stamps
Now I do love my die cuts but I kept it really simple and instead of going to my trusty Cameo I used my spellbinders nested heart dies , I used and old book and cut several layers of hearts in varying sizes. I sewed them together and coated them with Gesso and some chalk inks, added a little eyelet and some thread and attached them to the base which was embossed and the same inks and Gesso applied randomly
I do hope you will join us at Crafty Cardmakers and we look forward to seeing your creations, why not pop over and see what the fabulous DT have come up with to inspire and motivate us.
I may be a little late visiting as I am in London with my friend Dolly attending hospital while she undergoes chemotherapy but I do promise I will get round to you all as soon as I can
Take care
Marie

This is fabulous Marie, what a brilliant idea and I am going to steal the idea of the hearts for a Ruby Wedding card I have to make shortly. Love the colour.

Hi Marie. Safe journey to London, with love and healing to your friend Dolly. Your card is so much fun. I stopped by and had a look at all the cards – WOW! So inspiring. xoDonna
This is so pretty! Love the embossed background with the touch of color!
Loving the little ‘book’ heart. Take good care of yourself and Dolly. Hugs. Suze xx
Don’t worry about visiting just look after yourself and Dolly. Very pretty card Marie, xx
Marie that’s a wonderful card. The technique looks fabulous, sewing such a heart on a card is on my to-do-list, too.
Fabulous card – and such an original design too!
Gorgeous card, love the way you used the heart shapes.
Yvonne
Your layered heart is stunning! Another beautiful card Marie!
Hi Marie, just catching up on your posts. Lovely card – I like your layered heart … stitching with two threads of different colours and leaving the ‘tails’ untrimmed is a small detail but a clever one. I hope the new studio venture, which looks fantastic, is going well for you. Elizabeth xx
This is fabulous Marie, I love the hearts and embossed background.

Well you know I love this card and I can’t even begin to imagine how fiddly this was to make. Love the colours too and the fact that you used a book to make a card…very clever. I am astounded by your talent ! X
Love your brilliant design and fabby use of the old book. I have a couple of 100 old books that I need to get rid off, maybe I should start die cutting right way. LoL It really looks wonderful. Warm hugs to your friend too.
Love n hugs
Marie (MI)
I just love how you’ve made everything so dimensional … brilliant hearts all sewn together … I may have to CASE it!! Anita 🙂
