Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 68 ” Birthday Balloon Bonanza “

How time flies !!!  its time for our fortnightly challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers. The lovely  Mynnette is our host  ( happy birthday for yesterday )and she is asking us to create a card incorporating balloons of any description!! such a fun theme I’m sure you will agree. Pop over to Crafty Cardmakers for all of the details.

This is the simple card I made for my DT piece. I used my Cameo to create the background paper and the 3D balloons the sentiment is from Heard from the Heart by SU and stamped with Marina Mist ( thanks Vicky )

I enjoyed the theme so much I made a second card , another simple one again using my Cameo to create the robot and the balloon cut outs, added some glossy accent to the balloon and using the smile stamp I bought for a pound at Aintree inked it up with SU Pumpkin Pie.

Since I came back from the UK stash laden I have been finding it hard to get motivated !! I bought so much I dont know what to do with it ,where to put it and why I bought most of it ! The same thing happened last year and it took me a while to get back into the swing of things having room to store most of it would be a great start !.

Some good news I am now in possession of my brand spanking new I Pad 3 so all is right in Maries little world !!

Do pop over to Crafty Cardmakers to see what the other members of the Dt have created to inspire and delight you all ! you have two weeks to upload your creations and to be eligible for the wonderful prizes supplied by our very generous sponsors.

Take care

Marie

  1. Hard to get motivated? You must be missing the wind and rain Marie! Anyway of course it doesn’t look as if you found it hard at all as both these cards are gorgeous! I particularly like the first as I’m a big fan of hot air balloons (although only to look at – you wouldn’t catch me getting in and sailing off!) And you’re welcome! Vicky x

  2. Really lovely and cheery cards Marie and love the simplicity of the designs. I always envy crafters who can do this as I tend to throw everything at my makes!
    Have a lovely week.
    Hugs, Fliss xx

  3. Εβαλες φωτεινά και χαρούμενα χρώματα πολύ καλοκαιρινές όπως μ αρέσουν!!!!!

  4. Loving both your wonderful cards Marie. Have been thinking about you a lot lately with all that is happening in Greece and wondered if you were OK my friend. Take care of yourself and stay safe. Hugs Annette x

  5. Hello Marie
It is true that we can become overwhelmed but I have no doubt we will see you use more of your U.K. stash very soon – or do we need to bully you into using it lol.
That robot is so cute. I always imagined robots were for children but he would do for any age group and the colours work so well.
Wonderful cards that you shared in this post.
    Wishes
    Lynne

  6. Hi Marie, Love the Hot Air balloons. I know what you mean about getting motivated. Sometimes there is so much to do or play with that you just don’t know where to start.
By the way the link that you have used on the Crafty Cardmakers blog takes you straight to your old blog not to here!!
    hugs Kimx

  7. Hi Marie, since you changed from blogger I’ve been missing you even though I read all your posts as they pop into my inbox. Two great cards, love the hot air balloons – gorgeous colours. The news on Greece we’ve been getting over here hasn’t been too good today so I hope you and yours are doing okay over there. I can empathise with what you say about buying so much stuff, you don’t know what to do with it and don’t even know why you bought it … it happens to me when I go to a craft fair … it’s like choosing sweeties in a sweet shop, where to start 🙂 Hope your mojo returns soon. Elizabeth x

  8. Both your cards are fantastic, I love the quirky second one.
I’m sure we will be seeing your new stash in the coming weeks, its great having new goodies to play with.

  11. Both of your cards are lovely Marie I think the first one is really classy and the second is such fun – I really like the orange it’s a great colour and one I do neglect. Funnily enough I often don’t know where to start when I get new stash too. I also sympathise with not having anywhere to store my crafting stuff, what a pain it is!

  14. Hiya Marie, two very gorgeous cards! I love the balloon background and those 3d balloons, and your robot one is cool! Glad to hear you’ve got a new iPad, now please keep clear of buckets! It’s hard to know what to use first when you’ve been on a big shop, lol, but you may need a bigger room now!

    Take care Marie

  15. I adore the colourful backing paper you made…balloons should be these lovely bright colours :0) still never made it to the ballon festival in Bristol…one day !!
I know just what you mean…an influx of stash does nothing for the mojo, that’s why I keep ordering little and often. Drip feeding my obsession instead… lol

P.S new ipad sounds good, avoid buckets of water this time *wink*

  16. Two fantastic cards Marie. Love the bright colours and original designs.

I always feel overwhelmed when I have ‘too much’ stash to use and get ‘paralysed’ and can’t make a thing!
