Get Creative Card Challenge

Good morning bloggers and bloggerettes !

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and for those in the UK hope all of your pets nerves are back to normal after the Guy Fakes celebrations !

I just wanted to say a big big thank you to everyone who joined in our challenges 13 of them in total at Get Creative last month . We had a record amount of entries and the winners will be announced in the next few days boy its going to be tough there where some fabulous entries !!

A new month and the first challenge at Get Creative is a card challenge are illustrious leader Irini has asked us to make a card using two stamped images , but they must be different stamps .

Here are my DT cards

I have used my new set of Hero Arts and Sizzix die cuts stamps and embossing folders on this one. oops looks like i have used three stamps on this !!!!!!

Moving swiftly on and using only TWO stamps this time the centre image is Crafty Individuals which I have embossed with Ranger distress embossing powder and the swirly stamp is SU which I have stamped with Versamark watermark resist ink to give a tone on tone effect.

For this card I have used two Hero arts stamps and coloured the flower with Letraset markers ( my first attempt and probably my last ) I and markers do not mix !!  The sentiment is cut out using my Silhouette machine , which I have to say is feeling a little neglected of late !

This one is a variation on the first card using DP instead of the background stamp its a bit busy and I’m not sure if I like it but it begged me to be shown !!

Added this little butterfly to the inside of the card

Why not pop over to Get Creative  and see the beautiful inspirational pieces by my talented team mates and why not even take part. We are sponsored this month by Cherry Nest who are offering a free place in one of their on line classes  entitled Every day is Christmas Woo Hoo !!!

Nearly forgot to mention that the fabulous Lynn Stevens from Trash to Treasure is Celebrating her three year blog anniversary and is giving away some of her masterpieces to some lucky followers. I really didn’t want to post this as I am sure you will rush over there and my chances of winning of one her amazing pieces of art will be drastically reduced. The thing is  not only is Lynn an amazing artist but she is a thoroughly lovely lady so for once I will just have to put my greediness aside !

In the words of the great Mr Bugs Bunny

” That’s all folks “

  1. Oh, you are the Card Queen, Sweet Marie. They are all so stunning, however I must say I'm very attracted to the second one. Something almost a little primitive about it. Love the stamp. Thanks for sharing all this beauty (it gives me hope for my card future .. ha ha) Thanks for popping over to my blog, Marie. Muchly appreciated. hugs, Donna

  2. Gosh you have been busy! these are all lovely so glad we are not asked to choose just one!I'll tell the IMPs the fireworks are over for the year, not sure they will believe me or you! XOXO Zoe

  3. Καλημέρα! Είναι πανέμορφες οι κάρτες σου, η μία καλύτερη απο την άλλη 🙂 Νομίζω πως η τελευταία ειναι η αγαπημένη μου!

  4. Some people quote Shakespeare on their blogs and you quote… er Bugs Bunny! Ok, moving swiftly on – I love your cards as always Marie, especially the second with the fab swirls and that gorgeous postage stamp image. Note to self: this month I must join in with this challenge! Vx

  6. Yes, butterflies are always in vogue! I even like to expand it: butterflies, flowers and birds are always in fashion :-)You made lovely cards, Marie! I like the 2nd one best – because of its Asian theme and the elegance of it (swirls and pearls!)!Have a fab week!!

  7. Hi Marie. You make such beautiful cards! Though all gorgeous, I do love the first one – the combination of the stamps and embossing is really lovely. Maria x

  8. Wowzers Marie a fabulous collection of cards greet me! I love all your stamping, especially the first collage bkgd and the 'simplify' card is soooo pretty :)Rolo has just about stopped shaking every evening in anticipation of the bangs and whizzes!!Jenny x

  9. Hi Marie, popped in to catch up and found that I've missed a lot – and now I feel so neglectful 😦 What a batch of lovely cards – and, even though there is the same two stamp theme running through, they are all so different. If I had to choose a favourite I'd say the Crafty Individual one – the bird stamp is lovely and the swirly flourish is fab. Like how you're decorating the inside too – just finishes the cards off nicely. Off to look at all your other brilliant creations 🙂 Elizabeth x
