The Flower Challenge #103 Embosssing Heat or Dry.

Welcome back to a new month at The Flower Challenge. This time around, we are asking you to use heat or dry embossing on your floral projects.

While recovering from surgery, I bought a few sets of dies and stamps, and one of my favourites is this gorgeous peony from Memory Box, coloured with Distress Oxides. I added a little clear embossing to the leaves and petals, unfortunately, it isn’t very clear from the photo. I used an ancient die from Spellbinders to cut out an aperture, which I then embossed using the Scribbled Letter embossing folder also from Spellbinders.

We hope you’ll join in the fun at The Flower Challenge. The design team has created some amazing floral cards to delight and inspire.

Hopefully, when this is published, I will be away at my summer home, having my first swim of the year. I’m only allowed 15 minutes per day for the first couple of weeks, but rest assured, I will be doing a lot of paddling, weather permitting.

I’m linking up to A Cut Above, who are asking us to use at least one die cut on our project

Wishing you all a fabulous week

Fuschia Fun !

After the old mojo wandered off for a week or so it decided to put in a brief appearance just long enough for me to make a card and a HUGE mess and then vacated the premises tout sweet! At least I’m happy with my latest offering I hope you are too

I used one of my favourite dies by Memory box the Dainty Fuschia Stem which was coloured with Distress Oxides in Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, and Mowed Lawn popped up with tons of double-sided foam and attached to a lovely Dotted Stardust debossing plate by Altenew. The sentiment is by A Pocket Full of Happiness, coloured with Wilted Violet and Picked Raspberry and then embossed with clear embossing powder for a touch of shine. In the photo, it looks more like a shadow than two separate colours but hey ho you can’t win em all.

I’m playing along with The Flower Challenge I’m really enjoying using up my floral dies and stamps I didn’t realise I had so many of them

Tic Tac Toe TTTC260 .The lovely and talented Vicky is the featured designer this time round, how could I not play along! I’ve chosen Ink Blending,CAS and Die Cut, I do hope it’s Cas enough!

A Cut Above where it’s anything goes using die cuts and option to “Warm it Up” I’m just using dies.

Well that’s all from me the craft room needs a good seeing too and little Miss Molly my chihuahua is asking for cuddles and who am I to deny her.

Wishing you all a fabulous weekend.

Take care

Sparkles Monthly Challenges #167 Beach and or Tropical.

Welcome to another challenge at Sparkles, we had lots of amazing entries for our Christmas in July challenge you certainly make it difficult for Design Team to choose our favourites.

This time round we have a fabulous theme, Beach, and or Tropical chosen by the lovely and talented Dawn S.

I decided to frame it and take it to my summer house, unfortunately, I wasn’t able to crop the photo for some reason so please excuse the photo.

I used a fabulous embossing folder by Altenew but kept it plain as I wanted the colours to really pop on the leaves and the Whittle Lizard. I’m not sure who makes the outer frame as once again I was remiss and chucked out the packaging. When I bought it I thought that all of the frames were attached but it turns out it cuts tiny weeny skinny frames which for me and my sausage fingers are difficult to handle. I tried to keep them all attached on this card with the help of lots of tape and glue although I did lose a few of the little tykes along the way.

The leaves are by Memory Box which has a coordinating embossing folder it’s a bit of a pfaff trying to emboss the leaves without them falling out of the folder once you have die cut them in fact the whole card was a bit of a pfaff, to be honest.

The leaves were colored with Distress oxides and then lashings of Glossy Accents.

The Whittle Lizzard is also by Memory Box I wanted it to look like it was jumping from leaf to leaf. The sentiment once again is curtest of Mr Holtz.

We do hope you will join us at Sparkles Monthly Challenges my teammates have some amazing cards to delight and inspire.

I’m also linking up to Colorful Options who are asking us to use the colours yellow and Green

Take care

Challenge #486 – Anything Goes Less is More

Welcome back to another fun challenge at LIM. For the next fortnight, we have a super easy theme Anything Goes, now you can’t get easier than that! Not forgetting of course to keep it clean and simple.

For my card, I used a couple of memory box dies called Under the Sea. I love this set as the fishes are cut and embossed giving lovely texture and just a little colour brings them to life. I used Distress oxides on the fish and coral and a touch of glossy accents to bring the coral to life. Clear Nuovo drops have been discreetly added to the background, so discreetly that you can hardly see them (which was what I was aiming for )

We do hope you will join us at LIM as my team mates once again have amazing cards to delight and inspire.

On another note, summer has finally arrived in Greece and I’m off to my summer house for a few days to dip my toes in the Med, last summer I had a badly broken wrist and only managed to swim on a couple of occasions so am determined to make the most of it this year.

I’m linking up to Happy little stampers

Make my Monday who are asking us to create something for their theme On the Water

Wishing you all a fabulous weekend.

Take care

ATCAS Challenge #42 Sky

Hello lovely ladies

Time once again for a new challenge at ATCAS and our host for the next fortnight is the gorgeous and talented Shana. Now what did that lovely lady choose for us this time round……..

ATCAS - code word sky

Great code word don’t you agree  and I was so inspired I actually did some stamping !!!!!, that’s not to say when I use my Cameo I’m not inspired lol , but its been ages since I did any I nearly forgot how to do it. I made two cards and couldn’t decide which one I liked best so you lucky people (not) get to see both attempts.

This is a Memory Box stamp called words to birds collage, it’s a bit on the weeny side so if your like me and you suffer from bloggers blindness you could possibly mistake those birds for ants !

I used a variety of Adirondack inks which I applied with memory foam and just squidged them all over the place until I was happy with my squidging . When I was all squiggled out I stamped my image on top.  What are you laughing at !!! Have you never seen a green tinted sky before !!!!! well come to Thessaloniki it’s practically a nightly occurrence. The cameo did help to make the feather and I did a touch of embossing and used my Spellbinders card maker rectangles to make the frame

Masterpiece Number 2

Similar squigding as on the first card just addition of some sequins and a Cameo made feather and an extra frame, I think I like the first one best.

So over to you , we would love for you to join us at ATCAS,  it’s always a pleasure to see your fabulous interpretations of our code words and as usual the DT have outdone themselves. We are also delighted to welcome a new guest designer. Please put your hands together for the wonderfully talented Cathy from Cathy’s card spot

We are also most generously sponsored once again by Stamp Art Designs who are offering five digis for the winner

9 button StampArt Design by Kathryne final badge

Now before I go I must have my little whinge otherwise it wouldn’t be a ” proper ” blog post from me but one of the reasons I have been mojo-less and a bad blogger is that I have damaged my foot in two places ( so much for my power walks ! ) I’ve been told by the bone doctor this can take up to a year to heal and he’s put me on bed rest for two months , pretty painful and I can’t sit or lie in one place for too long. The only up side of it is it’s the world cup and Wimbledon so I get to see all of the matches,  don’t know what I’ll do when they finish might have to start watching day time TV !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELP !!!!!!!

I see CASolgy have a fantastic code word this week

Week 102 - FloatIts been ages since I played along with these talented ladies and do hope my floaty feather and little birdies fit the bill

ETA :
Thanks for the tip Vicki it seems that my card is eligible for the “ Just Us Girls Challenge ” who’s theme week is Bird . This is my first time playing along and have seen some fabulous cards in the gallery and by the DT.

I used the memory Box large Circle Burst , for the circle of course and the gorgeous owl , I’m afraid I haven’t got a clue who this little guy belongs too as I threw out the packaging a long time ago !  The flower embellishment in the corner is made from black UTEE that I created from one of the molds I made. Yep I know I made a card without using my Cameo ( still used die cuts though lol )

I do hope you can join us at Crafty Cardmakers and More why not pop over and see what the rest of the  talented DT have been up to and find out about our new format.
