It’s a new month, and that means a new theme over at The Flower Challenge.
This time around, we are asking you to add the colour purple to your floral creations.
I knew exactly what I was going to make, which is rare indeed for me.
I recently acquired the Project Life Magnificent Magnolia kit from Altenew, which comes with stamps, dies, stencils, and an embossing folder, and I couldn’t wait to use it.
I used distress oxides and a jot of glossy accents on the centre of the bloom. The sentiment is from The Greetery, which I discovered whilst in the UK, and spent an absolute fortune on crafty goodies.
We do hope you will join us at The Flower Challenge. My teamies have once again created a vast array of fabulous florals for your delectation (try saying that several times after imbibing a few cocktails)
I’m linking up to CardZ 4 Gals, who are asking us to use purple and green in our creations.
In other news, I spent a week in the UK visiting my mother and brother-in-law, both of whom are in care facilities due to their advanced dementia. Unfortunately, my mum doesn’t recognise me now; she thinks I’m her granddaughter, but she was very happy to see me, and she still has her sense of humour and a twinkle in her eye. I did treat myself to all manner of crafting items that I can’t get here in Greece, and managed to spend plenty of time with my little sister in her fabulous craft room. She caught the bug from me a few years ago and has ended up with the most fabulous crafty space and amazing stash. Am I jealous ? You bet I am.
Wishing you all a fabulous weekend
Take care
Marie

Good to hear you had a great time in the UK. LOVE, love your card, it’s awesome. x
Marie, keeping one’s sense of humor has to be the most wonderful thing don’t you agree?
I love your gorgeous violet purple magnolias!! They are just gorgeous – I can’t imagine how much fun you two must have when you and your sister are both in one craft room! I’d love to join you one day!

Your purple Magnolias are absolutely GORGEOUS Marie…the depth of color you achieved is wonderful! I’m so glad you had a wonderful time in the UK and came back with lots of goodies, and how fun that your little sister is hooked on this hobby now too…what a great thing to share. I’m sorry your mom’s memory is going, but I have to believe in her heart she knows you! Hugs. :0)
Oh Wow! This is mind blowing Marie, love love love it!
Fabulous card Marie! Those flowers are gorgeous
Glad you had a good trip back here, even though some of it must have been difficult. Xxx
Wow, this is such a beautiful card Marie! Purple is my favorite color, but the way you’ve done your flowers is stunning! Sorry to her about your family. My MIL is going through the same issue right now as we just moved her to a facility as well. It’s a hard thing. Glad you were able to treat yourself! Sending hugs
Marie, the magnolias you created are absolutely stunning! What a gorgeous birthday card and lucky recipient! It sounds like your trip ended on a good note, spending time with your sister. I love that she is equally enthralled with our obsession! It was nice to hear that your Mom was in a happy frame of mind and glad to see you, even if she thought you were her granddaughter. I think I told you my Mom had dementia as well, and my feeling is if they have some measure of happiness, that’s really all we can hope for from this terrible disease.
Take care!
Big hugs,
Stef
Beautiful card. I love your flowers and so glad you shared over at Cardz 4 Galz.
What fabulous color and dimension, Marie. Your card is gorgeous! I’m sorry about your Mom but so glad you got to visit.
