I’m back after a long break due to ill health after I was admitted to hospital for five days with intestinal issues and managed to catch covid just to put icing on the cake. The road to recovery has been slow and I’ll require surgery and more tests shortly but I’m feeling so much better and getting stronger by the day. Unfortunately, this all coincided with the opening of our new shop which had to be delayed by two weeks thankfully we are up and running now.
Enough of my moaning and on to the task at hand. Colorful Options has a fabulous new challenge with one of my favourite colours….red.
I made a frame using some old Spellbinders dies and embossed a piece of card with this fantastic EF from WeRmemory keepers. I brushed carefully over the top with Distress Oxide in Coral Red so as to keep some of the white card visible. I then attached acetate as I was planning to make a shaker but as it happens I didn’t like the result so left it as was. The faceted heart is courtesy of Mr Holtz and Sizzix also colored by Distress Oxide and a tad of clear Distress embossing glaze for a little shine.
We do hope you will join us at Colorful Options the DT has some amazing cards to delight and inspire and you can also find out more about this challenge and the wonderful gifts for our lucky winners.
Here’s a little glimpse of the new shop, not a very good photo but the best one I could get from a distance to show both windows.
I look forward to catching up with you all.
Take care
Marie

Marie, I do hope you’ve made lots of these gorgeous pieces for your shop in January when everyone will want one for themselves or their sweethearts! SO beautiful!
What I wouldn’t give to walk into your shop one day!
Take good care of yourself, my friend – I have been missing you! So very sorry to know the reason for your absence! Healing hugs, and prayers!

I guess you are a glutton for punishment? So much going on in your life, not all good, either. Good to hear you are improving and I hope the next surgery etc will have you back on both feet and full health.
Your card is amazing as always, I love the embossed background and the beautiful heart, the card is so elegant. I love the gold edging on it. I just took my third look and, is it me? or have I got that sort of mind, I can see a bustier? Sorry! It’s still gorgeous.
What a wonderful shopfront, love your window display and the name of your shop. Very Classy. Good Luck with the shop and everything else. Hugs x

Thank you so much Julia
As you know I have the faceted heart die and love it. It’s beautiful in red. The finish you have achieved is stunning. I wouldn’t have thought to use it on an embossed background but it works so well. Another beautiful card.
You and your shop are looking amazing too. Don’t know how you manage to juggle so many things and make everything look effortless x
Thank you so much for your lovely comment. My juggling is now at professional level so much so that I have applied to the circus as a trainee juggler and tight rope walker…fingers crossed but not while juggling of course !
Beautiful and classy frame project!
Hope you are doing better and staying that way. Your shop looks amazing.
Thank you so much Trina
